I shot up from the bed and moved to the door. However, I hesitated. I couldn't just open the door without knowing what was on the other side.

'What do you think we should do?' I asked Edna, looking around for a possible solution.

"The only thing we can do is to find out what's going on," she answered back.

I took in a deep breath. Once my nerves were calm, I pulled the door open.

There wasn't any movement on this side of the pack house, and the entire hallway was dark.

I tiptoed amid the silence to the stairs.

Thump!

Thump!

Heavy footsteps hurried up the stairs. I had to push back into one of the doors and press my back flat against it.

"Check around; she should be somewhere."

A deep voice announced. Who were they, and what were they looking for? Or rather, who were they looking for?

I stared quietly and observed the movement in the dark.

One passed right in front of me. My breathing hitched. I pinned my lips together, making sure not to make any noise.

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   His cucubines

Astrid. He had been in my room for nearly two hours. No words were exchanged, no real discussion. He had asked Lena to bring in food. We sat and ate at the small glass table in my room.He ate quietly. I wanted to ask what he was doing, why he had come to my room instead of facing his concubines, but I didn't have the nerve. He could send me away for questioning him. He was extremely quiet. After dinner, Lena came and cleared everything. I took my bath and went to sleep.I had been doing some basic training on my own, like push-ups and rope jumping. My room had ample space for that. When I didn't have intense training, I would come back and do some exercises on my own before resting.I needed this, so I welcomed the extra work.Three days after the competition at Bloodloom, Soren decided to pit me against the white-haired girl, whose name I learned was Valency—the one I saw arguing at his door.To make matters worse, the other concubine with short pixie hair and dyed brown edges was t

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Sleeping with him too!

Astrid. My eyes danced around the place. It was already filled up. I didn't know many people came to witness this.People sat in the loom like it would be in a football field since it had a structure similar to that. Most of the empty chairs were red.Horns and whistles blared around us.It was rowdy, people moving haphazardlyAt the center stood a ring. Not your typical ring. It was a fence made of bamboo sticks. The sticks were painted black with white lines around them. It gave the signature zebra color, except that it was just three white lines across the fence. And then, you will think of the ring itself to be some soft surface; but what I was staring at was black muddy earth. Willa took a turn to the left side of the loom, which seemed to have more people than the right side. When I turned to follow her, his voice stopped us.I watched Willa's back tense for a brief second before she spun around to face him."The view will be better in front."He used his chin to gesture to the r

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Bloodloom

Astrid. We have never stayed this long at the Glacier. The sun was already settling and it seemed Soren was bent on us staying here to train even more.I didn't understand the kind of transformation he had gone through. We had been shooting arrows here and there. He had let me have a little intermission while he left for somewhere else.He let me shoot the arrow without standing behind me like he did before. I was kind of relieved. It was becoming impossible for me to focus with him standing that close to me. I needed a clear head to get this done. It was the most important thing in my life at the moment. I stared at the big dart board in front of me. The sharp head of the arrow pressed down to my side. I was unable to aim at the green spot. The arrow danced between the red, yellow, and blue, which were the second, third, and fourth circles, respectively. He had told me to hold on. And I have been here waiting. My gaze moved to the left when I saw movement. He approached but

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame    Visions

Astrid. If hardwork was a it took to be at the top, then I would been thr best by now. A single day hasn't gone by without me coming here to trained with or without the orders and most especially Soren.I stopped judging at the though of him. It's been three days after I found him in his office. His mother had been on her way to see him when she heard me screamed for help. She had immediately alerted his father her husband through the pack mind-link. Something I would have done if I was a memeber of the pack. He had been taking to the hospital. No one was allowed to see him. I had tried but they wouldn't let me in. I wondered what was wrong with him.Had something happened to let him have that kind of reaction? Or was it something he had been doing?I hadn't told Willa about what happened because I knew it would have been tempted to asked some questions. But I decided to keep my mouth shut. I started the trade mill again. Had a couple of runs. Lifted a couple of weights just

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Being Gentle

Astrid.Training has been going on pretty well. I was done with some of the major training like the push-ups and rope jumping. He had let me know it wasn't all about the training. I still had more training to do. Willa had told me about weightlifting, boxing, sword fighting, and horse riding, which I was quite excited about. She was good with horses, and I was sure she wouldn't mind helping me out with some tips if at all Soren would let her. After the morning, I shot my dart right into the red dot; I hadn't seen him much. He had come to the field and given me a few instructions and left immediately. He might have some pack stuff going on with him. Willa had made mention of a pack of Caribou and Elk he had found. I'm pretty sure he was working on protecting from other pack members just like I was told.Yeah, Willa and I had had a good time together in the past few days. She was good. She would laugh at the slightest thing I said, not like I was that funny, but I loved seeing her laug

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   A life style

Astrid."You have been getting bruises lately. I hope mh son isn't being harsh on you?"I lifted my head from the bowl of steamy Caribou in front of me and stared at Luna Henna. Her face held a small smile on it. My gaze moved to Soren who has puased his spoon in his plate, he was now leaning in his chair, his eyes on my face. They were intended and I don't know if he wanted to me to say something different or maybe something in his favour.I shook my head befire answering her question, making sure to leave her son out of it. There wasn't any doubt that he might double training or make it intense if I said anything that didn't favour him."Each level of the training get pretty tough..." I swallowed the meat in my mouth. Took a glass of water to watches it down with."...and injuries happen all the time. I'm getting use to it." The fork poked at a sliced of thick Caribou. I shoved it into my mouth. I started chewing from thr lest side before circulating it into my mouth. This has go

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Mind made up

AstridHorrible would be an understatement to describe the act before me. Two heads on a spike at the banks of a loch. He had some memebers of his pack peed around it. And he had done thesame. I shouldn't be seeing this, but here I was against my own will. Did his parents know about this abominable act?How could a human being be this insane about this like this and acts like it's nothing? The crowd that had followed him here most of them had left already. It was just his gamma, beta and few other people that didn't know their names but their faces were quite familiar. He needed to be called to order. Someone needed to do something about this act. It couldn't continue like this. Even if someone did you wrong, you couldn't treat them like this."Light it up and let them burn to ashes." He turned to the gamma who seemed to be enjoying the show. I didn't know if it was out of his own will or he was bound to enjoy it.Alex had no expression on his face as he just watched the entire

  • The Luna's Walk of Shame   Have a feast with me

AstridWith everything that has happened so far, i should be be able to go. Just leave this pack and it's people and go somewhere else. But where would I go? I had nowhere to go and no one to talk to. The only person I could talk to was Fern but I couldn't mind link her and I don't know if she has tried to mind-link me or not or they had completely forgotten about me.I was hopeless with nowhere to look for help. I though things would get better , but Soren kept getting worse everyday. Even if he was going through something, he didn't have to unleashed his anger on me. I didn't know what he was going through and so, I had no right to his anger. He was being mean for no reason. Asking me to run up a hill as steeped as the one he asked me to.I should probably just stay in my room. But I couldn't. I have been in here the whole day. I wasn't use to in staying in doors like this.I used to walked around in Emberclaw, taking care of the pack and seeing how things were functioning. Takin
