“Are you okay?” Blue looked exhausted by the time she came out of my fathers office.

“Yeah, I’m fine. I think I’m going to lie down.”

“What did he say to you?” I ask, walking alongside her.

“That I was insurance.”

“Insurance?”

“It was better to make me a Rogue than kill me.” She twists her fingers in her blue hair. “Why would it be insurance?”

“I’m not sure.”

“But you knew. You knew he had the final vote over my family.”

“I only found out recently.”

“So because of him, I had to grow up without my birth family.” There were no emotions in her voice.

“It wasn’t him that killed your parents. You said it yourself, they drove off a cliff. Besides, they killed hundreds of wolves.”

“But he sentenced them to a life of being Rogues.”

“He had too.”

She pauses to gaze at me, her hands sitting on her hips. “You agree with him.”
