Elsie's POV

It wasn't immediately after they arrived that the loud bell summoning everyone to the training field started ringing, but it also wasn't very long afterward either. The loud clanging echoed through the entire camp, cutting through the murmurs of the warriors.

I walked along with the large crowd of other warriors toward the general field where the formal trial games were held. We moved in a sea of bodies, taking our seats on the benches surrounding the dirt arena.

As I settled in,

  • The Lycan King's Fearless Little Warrior   Chapter 91

Elsie’s POV I squinted my eyes at her, completely taken aback by the sudden turn of events. "Are you serious right now? Didn't you say that you were going to go through with your hatched plan to trick the King?"Liliana rolled her eyes, shifting her weight on her cot. "Don't be silly. You literally just said the King knows everything. I will certainly not sit here waiting for my inevitable death when I can easily be elsewhere, keeping my life and raising my pup in peace."I looked at her, my eyebrows pulling together. "So you plan to keep the pup, then? Where does Holmer fit into all this?"Liliana spat out, her face twisting in displeasure. "Nowhere. I just had a temporary moment of delusion because a decent warrior was somehow interested in me. I really should have been much wiser."I walked over and sat on my own bed, letting out a breath. "Somehow? Anybody would be interested in you, Liliana! To be honest, I was damn scared the King would also choose to be with you."Liliana gave

Elsie's POV I walked back to the small side tent, my legs feeling drained with every step I took. Even my wolf was quiet and just mellow, subdued by the lingering hurt from the King’s dismissal. When I pulled back the canvas and stepped inside, I saw Liliana casually lounging on her bed. I ignored her, heading over to my side of the small tent.Liliana let out a long whistle, leaning back against her wooden frame. "Well, it's finally out now, isn't it?"I remained silent, keeping my back turned to her. I went about quietly arranging my scattered stuff on my cot. Since my truth was out anyway, I also set about making appropriate, far more comfortable wrappings for my chest. There was no point in punishing my breasts any further with the tight, painful bindings I had worn for weeks.I could feel Liliana’s eyes tracking my every movement from across the room. I eventually turned to look at her tiredly, wiping sweat from my forehead."Do you really think he doesn't know that the pup you

Elsie's POV There was a thick, standing log of solid wood positioned right in the centre of the tent, but honestly, all that was left of it at this point was a mangled, splintered pulp. The Lycan King was furiously busy beating the shit out of it, delivering punch after punch with terrifying speed. He was shirtless, his broad chest rising and falling in ragged gasps, and he carried an angry look on his face. His knuckles and hands were shredded from the brutal impact, covered in blood, but he didn't seem to feel an ounce of the pain.I stood frozen at the entrance, a feeling of grim apprehension settling in my chest. I didn't know what my ultimate fate would be now.Commander Hunter stepped inside the tent right beside me, the rustle of the canvas drawing attention. The moment the King heard, he didn't turn around before he shoved a harsh shout through the space. "Leave!"Both Commander Hunter and I jumped slightly at the volume of his voice, instinctively moving backward to immedi

Elsie's POV The moment the whistle blew, Harding swung his wooden staff with a slice through the air, aiming for my ribs. I leaned back quickly, the wood missing my chest by a fraction of an inch. I didn't have the luxury of hiding my true fighting style anymore. I slid my hand down to the very base of my shorter stick, spinning it rapidly in my palm. Harding lunged forward, using his reach to push me back toward the boundary lines. He brought the staff down in a fierce, overhead strike. Instead of dodging, I stepped into his space, bringing my stick up at an angle to parry the blow. The impact vibrated violently up my arms, but I held my ground. I used the momentum to slide my stick down the length of his staff, barking the wood painfully across his knuckles. He grunted, dropping his grip with one hand for a split second. That was all the opening I needed. I dropped low to the dirt, sweeping my leg out in a kick that caught him behind his good ankle. He stumbled, his massive

Elsie’s POVI just remained in my seated position in the middle of the dirt, staring blankly ahead and knowing it was too late to salvage anything. At this point, my vision was so heavily blurred by the effects of the herb that I couldn't even fully see what was happening around the perimeter of the field. The men had rushed forward from the benches, definitely wowed at the unexpected fact that there was a hidden female in the middle of their warrior camp. Much more, it being the top-tier fighter boy, Elias, whom they had all trained alongside for weeks. The initial, pin-drop silence gave way to a deafening cacophony of voices. Everyone was talking, shouting, and murmuring at the same time. Then, the physical fighting started as the crowd of warriors aggressively started to crowd around my position, pushing and shoving each other to get a closer look at me. I felt very much like one of those poor, helpless animals trapped at the center of a circus ring.Under normal circumstances, I

Quinn's POV Although I had spent the last hour trying to convince myself that Elsie would be fine during these matches, I simply could not help following her discreetly when she slipped away from the training field. Hunter and Dane had immediately tried to tail after me when I stood up from my seat, acting as if they couldn't trust me to go anywhere by myself without encountering some sort of danger.I turned on them, giving them both a silent, icy command to stay back and remain at the platform. Once they complied, I quietly went after Elsie, keeping my footsteps silent in the dark.As she walked toward the forest, I couldn't help but think that she looked pale under the torchlight. I quickly concealed my scent and my presence, watching her from a safe distance while leaning casually against a thick pine tree. But why on earth was I so concerned about her? It felt like some invisible force was constantly pulling me straight toward her, no matter how hard I tried to resist. Was this

Elsie’s POV I froze in my tracks. I had always been daring, stubborn, reckless even—but this? This was beyond rebellion. If I was caught, the shame would destroy my father. But if I stayed, the mating would destroy me. Nearby, an older woman pounded grain into a mortar with exhausted arms. A cry

Elsie's POVTheo nodded, his expression turning grim. "He brought a message for the Alpha and the Gamma. It's about war, Elsie. A real war.""War?" I repeated."Come on," Theo said, already turning back toward the village. "We need to hear exactly what he says."We ran, sprinting through the trees.

Elsie's POV As if the news from last night wasn’t enough to rot my soul, the next morning brought a fresh disaster.
