Undeserving humiliation

°°°°°°°°°

Gasps were everybody's response. The students left space for them and began to cheer at the sides, leaving their own training instead.

Elva was biting her nails at this point, her other hand placed on her chest, her heart was on a race.

His head ringed from the impact, his jaws tightening, hands clenched into fists as he stood up with a deadly glare. The masked senior scoffed and motioned with his hand for Zack to come at him again if he still  could.

Zack furiously lunged at him with a flying kick, the blow was blocked, both threw punches everywhere, each taking and giving a good blow painting their faces with red.

The speed was so much more like a tornado, people could only see the dust embracing them and hear the painful groans.

"Somebody please stop them, they're gonna kill each other!!" Screamed one of the girls around in concern, but unlike them the trainers were watching the two in a different light, they seemed so focused and are enjoying the fight.

Everybody knew Zack was going to succeed his father after college, he was soon to be Alpha of his pack so his abilities were exceptional but to everybody's surprise the masked senior was nothing less compared to him.

Though he had never shown his abilities before, it's like everything about him was meant to be kept a secret, thus he was named a mysterious senior. Not even the tutors have seen his face before or know about his true identity let alone the students, maybe the heads of the college do.

However, today was the other way around, the fight was too steamy.

Zack was able to hold his head and kicked him with his knee, the masked senior lifted Zack's left leg and his back was crushed to the ground. Zack then was pinned and showered with punches, they rolled down on the dusty grounds, ripping each other with their claws, both groaning but no one was ready to back up.

When suddenly both of them were pulled away from each other with great difficulty by the trainers.

The fight was getting personal so they decided to stop them now? thought Elva shaking her head, she was relieved that it happened.

"FUCK!! Let go of me!" Zack cursed as he threw his hands in the air wanting to still go back and fight the masked senior, who was also eager for the same thing.

"I'll kill you!" Shouted Zack as they were drugged away. And still the masked senior didn't say a word to retort.

After a long thoughtful hour of restraining, the tutors were finally able to tame them from advancing at each other like mad dogs.

Their sports clothes were all ripped and tattered, painted with their blood, the bruises they don't even remember how they acquired them.

The tutors gave them an earful and asked them to shake hands and make up, Zack was the first one to spit and curse at the idea.

"Are you fucking kidding me? I'd die before I do that!" he would never shake hands with that weird fool, over his dead body.

The masked senior wasn't interested either, he even got up to go away, they locked eyes with so much hatred for a while before he walked away holding onto his bleeding forearm.

Elva who was on her way to her boyfriend heard him groan as they crossed paths, she watched his retreating back but quickly shook off the thoughts and rushed to Zack.

Her hands went straight to his face, surveying the damages with knitted brows.

This was her first time seeing Zack fighting with someone of his same strength, the masked senior's abilities were deadly just like him, and maybe that is what he doesn't want to accept, the fact that there was someone of his calibre or more messed his mind.

She traced her fingers on his broken nose, the cuts on the corner of his lips, there was a claw mark traced with blood over his shirt starting from his chest to his lower abdomen. "Are you okay?" Her voice flattered with a restrained cry.

Zack was fuming and stood  up pushing her hands off him "Leave me alone" he said and walked away with Derrick, Aria's mate.

Elva felt so miserable and lowered her head down in shame, tears trailing down, clenching the sides of her pants.

"This is why I always tell you to just ditch that punk," said Aria and reached to hug her friend. "One minute he treats you like a piece of shit and the other acts all lovey dovey" she pulled away wiping her tears.

"It's okay, he's just pissed off Aria," she faked a smile. "I'm okay," she added. Aria wasn't a fool not to know she was lying but she didn't probe further and just let her be.

Deep down Elva knew she wasn't okay, she was on the brink of going mad as she worried for him to only be given a cold shoulder by him.

His words and actions broke her heart so much but no matter what she still loves him, that is her weak point and she was aware of it.

They went back to their lockers, picked their clothes and headed to the washroom to freshen up, thanks to their dramatic fight the training ended early today.

A teenage girl walked by the corridors with a first aid kit on her hands, her lips set into a thin line, she entered the library silently as her hips swayed with her catwalk. She noticed a few number of students, buried their heads on the books  busy with whatever they were doing.

She walked to the end of a long line of book shelves and there sat the masked man, his back leaning by the window with his eyes closed as if he was on meditation.

Sigh "You could've avoided getting hurt so why didn't you?" asked the girl, she opened the box and started to clean his bruised forearm.

"What fun would that be Rosa?" He replied and hissed when the spirit touched his flesh.

"It's no fun getting hurt Emrys, Dad would…."

"You may go Rosa, this would heal in no time" he dismissed her and left no room for discussion.

Her shoulders dropped in defeat, she sighed again once she spotted the pale purple circle around his eye. Rosary silently tied a bandage on his forearm and left him alone at his dark favourite spot in the library.
