Kenzie pushed herself faster. She had been right. After her grandfather had gotten all the samples he could, they continued on and ran into a group of werewolves. They were able to get a running head start, but the ugly creatures were quick on their tails. Now as she entered this room filled with those slimy-looking things, she could not help but curse under her breath. She saw a doorway on the other side of the room. The last place she wanted to be taking these things on was in a room with their offspring that could also invade her body. Kenzie skidded to a halt when she saw two more wolves appear in the doorway she was heading for. Those ugly sons-a-bitches had trapped them.
Kenzie grabbed her m16, finger on the trigger. She felt her brother press his back to hers. Out of the corner of her eye she could see her grandfather looking around for another way out. Kenzie took a deep breath. She did not want to die, but it was possible that this time, she would not make it out of here alive. Steeling herself, she brought up her gun. "Mackenzie, wait. They aren't charging us," Daniel stated.
Kenzie's eyes narrowed to slits. "I don't plan on giving them a change to either."
Just then they heard a loud noise off in the distance. What the hell was that? Kenzie never took her gun off the creatures. Again, she heard another sound, and a few pieces of the wall began to trickle down. At the third sound, the werewolves seemed to be…contemplating? No…waiting. They were waiting for something. Kenzie would be damned if she waited to find out. If she was going to die, she would take more of them with her.
Taking aim, she fired at the wolf to the left of the door. Firing off rapid shots she soon turned to the other one, which was now coming her way. It got within three feet of her before she dropped it. She then heard other gunfire. Turning around to quickly stand beside her brother she continued to fire. Emptying her magazine into as many as she could, but they were still coming. How many of these things were there?
Dropping the empty gun to hang at her side, Kenzie quickly pulled out her two mk24 handguns. She began firing but knew she could only put down four of them. Maybe five. To her dismay she only took down three. Quickly she pulled the m27 infantry automatic rifle from the place on her brothers back. Aiming, she continued to fire as she began backing towards the other door. She stopped immediately when she heard growling behind her. Turning quickly, she saw three more of those ugly creatures. This time Kenzie heard the purple light, well what it was shot from, before she saw it. She ducked out of the way as fast as she could but was not fast enough. The blood and saliva from the shot creature splatter onto her vest and it began to melt again. She had no choice but to lay the gun down, and strip it off as quickly as possible. She was not sure which bodily fluid was doing it and she did not want to be close enough again to find out.
With a fraction of her attention, Kenzie vaguely heard the sound of the purple light shots. Throwing the vest to the floor she retrieved the gun again. Turning around, she saw three werewolves slowly stalking and advancing on her brother. His back was to them. She did not have time to look for her sharpshooter rescuer. Kenzie was an excellent aim, but she did not want to take the chance on hitting her brother. Slinging the strapped of the gun around her neck, she retrieved her machete, and ran towards them.
Wielding the machete, in two fluid movements she had one cut in half and then turned around shooting one of the other ones. Kenzie went to cut the other one, but it landed a forceful blow with its' large paw. The impact was hard, the strength inhuman as it sent her backwards across the room. Kenzie quickly picked up the gun and began to fire at the same time Colby did. Together they dropped it.
"Behind you!" Kenzie called to her brother.
She got up quickly, turning to her grandfather. The old man was holding his own. She took aim at some of the creatures walking towards him. Dropping a few of them. The ringing of gunshots was so loud that Kenzie never heard the three wolves that were sneaking up behind her. She was only made aware by the sound of her sharpshooter.
Turning around, Kenzie saw the large paw, claws razor sharp and almost glistening in the light, coming her way. She tried to move, but again was not fast enough. The paw swiped across her midsection, digging in deep and causing a shattering scream of pain to force its way from her lips. Kenzie rolled on the floor, trying to quickly push herself to her feet through the pain, as a deafening growl resounded in the room.
Viper made his way towards his living quarters, mentally exhausted. It was the first time it had happened in a while. A few of his new students were very spirited, and not in a good way, and it seemed they’d decided that testing his patience and seeing how much they could get away with was a goal they set themselves after the first week.Typically, he had more patience with the pups. Patience was how he was able to teach them, mold them. Which allowed them to be accepted into an even better program. However, with the three currently making it their life’s mission to interrupt his class, he had run out of patience, and corrective punishments were not having the desired effect. That led Viper to sending messages to the three pups’ parents and informing them that he would be dropping them from his class at the end of the week. It had not taken but mere minutes for him to receive messages back asking for a meeting. He had agreed and would meet
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Sonja asked, as Kenzie returned to the living room. The older woman had come over to hang out while both of their mates were working, Cydney was at her second day of classes and Jay was off somewhere with Colby.“Yeah. I think I might have a stomach bug,” Kenzie responded, retaking the seat she’d abruptly vacated a few minutes prior.“Are you sure that’s all it is?” Sonja asked.“I’m pretty sure. Why?”Sonja glanced over at Kenzie. “The mating season ended a month ago. Could you be pregnant?”Kenzie shook her head. “No.”“Did you use protection, or do you have a condition that keeps you from being able to get pregnant?” Sonja inquired.“We didn’t and I don’t, but Viper does.”After their first time having sex, Kenzie inquired about protections because t
Viper sat with Kenzie tucked into his side as he went over the upcoming training plans for his new set of students. They would have their first meeting in a couple of cycles, and he wanted to make sure he had everything ready to go. He always switched up his teachings as a way to keep the incoming students on their toes. Some of them could have had siblings in his previous class and thought they would have a leg up by learning what their sibling had. He enjoyed the surprised look he typically received from most of them when that wasn’t the case.New training always begun after the mating season. Anything that had shifted to accommodate several Lycans not being able to attend to their duties because they were taking part went back to normal. His upcoming class had three more pups than the previous one. Five he saw were signed up at the last minute. Viper had to wonder if that was because of their parents were indulging in the mating season and putting
The mating season had been filled with quality time and Viper indulging in Kenzie at every turn. It felt like it’d gone by extremely fast, and now that they were back on the home ship. Kenzie was extremely tired, but she’d expected to be. Viper had satisfied and pleasured her thoroughly, and she’d spent most of the trip home sleeping. The original plan had been to pick up Cydney from Habu as soon as they returned, but her mate had decided it wouldn’t hurt for the little girl to stay at his dad’s for another night while Kenzie rested. She wasn’t sure if that was because he wanted one more day of uninterrupted mating, or because he actually planned on allowing her rest.Kenzie received her answer when they arrived at their apartment, and he ushered her straight to the bedroom. Viper removed her shoes and placed her on the bed before going to one of her containers and pulling out a book. He brought it to her, and Kenzie foun
Kenzie sat and listened as Cydney recounted the things she’d done with Habu and Jay. Because of the season, Jay was not allowed to leave Habu’s house by herself, so he’d been accompanying them everywhere. They had gone to watch a star explode. She’d gotten new toys from the trading post, which Habu claimed he couldn’t say no to. Kenzie had to refrain from laughing at that because it was such grandpa behavior. Jay had painted her nails and toes twice, and they’d done a bunch of puzzles, and finished an entire coloring book. She was glad to hear that the little girl was having fun. She’d been worried about leaving her alone for so long, but the promise that she’d be able to come and visit, and knowing that Cydney loved spending time with Jay, helped ease Kenzie’s worries.Originally, Cydney was supposed to come visit them on the seventh day they were there, and spend two days with them. It was what they ha
Viper sat at the table in the dining quarters, his mind far from anything that had to do with the room he was seated in. They’d been away for ten days, and he had lost track of how many times they had mated in that time, but he could not get enough of Kenzie. Each time he looked at her, it was hard to keep himself in check. They had not only mated in their sleeping quarters, but in almost every other area of the ship and twice more in the soft grass of the planet. Viper did not remember feeling like this during past mating seasons where he had been with potential Lycan mates. Then the goal had been procreation, not pleasure, and perhaps that was why it hadn’t been as enjoyable. While it felt good, it was a job, a chore almost, the outcome being far more important than the act itself. With Kenzie, it was one hundred percent pleasure. His little mate did things females of his species did not because it was about multiplying and not about what they felt. Pleasure was at the forefront o
