Chapter Forty Nine

SCARLET’S POV

I winced out in pain, but it wasn’t also loud enough for people to hear as I didn’t want to attract attention. I didn’t know what Brad had in mind to do, in case I got him really pissed, now.

“You’re hurting me, Brad.” My voice shook, expressing my pain.

“That’s why you should sit, or I’ll keep hurting you. For goodness sake, I’m not done speaking, yet.” He said, in between his teeth.

Oh, my goodness. Brad hadn’t changed at all. He was just still the same Brad I knew before all this pretense came up. Why was I so blind that I couldn’t notice it?

So, all these romantic stuffs were all a pretense, his play to get to me, and that hurt me deeply as I figured that out. I stared into his determined eyes, and hesitantly sat down.

“So, all you were doing was just for show.”

“Pfft! And if I tell you that you’re right, what are you going to do about that? Wait, for a moment, did you think you deserved the sweet things I did for you?” Brad mocked, and chuckled.
