SCARLET'S POVIt was obvious that everyone in the room was shocked that the Rogue King us actually a woman.Who would have thought she could be the Rogue King whom everyone has been talking about? Although, she didn't look too weak to be the Rogue King, but still, it was a surprise. One no one would ever have imagined for once. But then, I noticed something. It was the way Elias and the Rogue King stared at each other. It was as if they knew each other way before now and that suspense was almost killing me here."Estelle?" Elias voiced out, looking shocked.I looked at him and also looked at Estelle whom he had called, wondering what exactly was going on and when he would explain, as well."What the hell is going on, Estelle! How the hell are you the rogue King!" Elias voiced out, demanding an explanation.Everyone watched quietly, trying to get what was going on."Don't you dare call me by that name anymore. You do not have a right to call me by my birth name. Or you might not like
SCARLET’S POVHearing such a story was quite horrible to hear. In fact, not just anyone could hear it without feeling a bit weird about it.But then, I understood the reason Estelle wanted to take vengeance against Elias and his family, Although, she really deserved to be punished for what she did. If I were the one, she did that to, I would feel bad for the rest of my life.As a woman, my face is very important and if someone cuts my face up, making me look horrible and scary, I won’t see life as something worth living anymore. But then, banishment was too much.Who knew how she and her family strived through the difficulties that they experienced? All those experiences could have made her build up her anger against Elias and his family gradually until it got to the peak where she decided to take her vengeance on them.Elias had gone to take care of some issues, so I was left alone in the bedroom, thinking about what had happened earlier today. Then, Ashley’s kingdom crossed my mind.
SCARLET’S POV“I wonder why Estelle had to try to conquer other kingdoms when she has just one enemy.” Elias said, looking like he was only trying to restrain himself from getting angry.“Well, we must ensure that she doesn’t get to us the second time. Let’s go over to the bedroom and then we can talk better while we lie down. You look so tired.” I said to Elias as I noticed how tired he looked. He had been busy ever since the death of his father. One thing I wondered about was what manner he would use to avenge his father’s death now that he has found out that it is a woman, and the woman is someone she knows. When we got to the room, we both sat up on the bed, and I stroked his head while we talked.“For Estelle to still have the kingdom in mind after all these years, she isn’t going to stop at nothing until the kingdom is destroyed completely. She wouldn’t harbor us in mind for this long only to not take her revenge to her satisfaction.” I uttered as I stared at the door.“You’re r
ELIAS’ POVAfter what seemed like an hour, Ralph presented a letter to me.“A response from Estelle.” He informed me as he handed the letter over to me.Scarlet turned to look at me like she was a bit worried, but I nodded my head for her to calm down. Then I focused back on the letter and ripped it open to read what response she had for me. More than anything, I hoped that whatever my plan would turn out to be, it would be successful, and Estelle wouldn’t win against us.Whatever she plans on doing, I don’t plan on watching her get rid of people who matter so much to me. “I agree to meet with you, but on my terms. You have to come to my camp. If you don’t want to, then there’s nothing I can do.”Although, that sounded tricky, but there was no choice. If I at least went there, we’ll know what next. I could feel it in me that I was much better than when I had just woken up, so it was okay and a bit safe for me to go over to her pack.“And what was her response?” Scarlet asked, lookin
SCARLET’S POVWhat I feared most was what he had just said. He looked so serious about it, and it looked like he was never going to change his mind. But then, I still had to try. After all, the only person who could get to him better than the others was none other than me. “Elias…” “And until I do what I have in mind to do, you won’t be stepping out of this palace.” Elias said, with seriousness. “Elias. Please don’t do this.” Ralph spoke, pleading on my behalf. “Ralph, I don’t want you to support her on this one. We can’t deal with this emotionally. It has to be a decision, made rationally. “Elias, you can’t do this to me. You can’t…” “Guards!” Elias called out, interrupting me. At this point, it seemed as if he was a different man. I understood how he was trying to protect me, but this was getting too much. How would he shut down the emotional part of him and leave Ashley to die, just like that?I took a few steps backwards as I could already understand what he was trying to do
ELIAS’ POVI quickly left the study room and both Ralph and I rushed to the room to check on her. My mind wasn’t at rest as we both ran towards the room. I knew how crazy Scarlet could be whenever she wanted something to go her way. On getting to the room, i saw her holding a knife, and glaring at me. She sliced her arm a bit more, and blood dripped down. “Scarlet, stop this!” I yelled at her, feeling angry and anxious that if she kept losing more blood, she was going drop down to the floor and risk her health. “If losing me is what you’re so scared of, then I have to put it to you that if you do not try out the journey to the world beyond, then you will lose me easily.” She threatened, with a glare. Ralph tapped my arm and I looked back at him. He made an expression that showed he was trying to tell me to agree with Scarlet. “We both know how headstrong she is when it comes to things like this.” He whispered to me and I looked back at Scarlet. Truly, her stubbornness was k
SCARLET'S POV “I know, and I feel quite bad for going down that lane, but you know we’ve got to do all it takes to ensure Ashley is back to good health. Who knows? She might be able to help us with an information. You know she was captured by Estelle. She must have seen a lot which would be very helpful for us.” “I understand. Just look for better ways to convince him regarding something than hurting yourself. Well, let me leave you to go over to meet him. I’m sure he’s so annoyed with both you, and himself. You’ve got to make him feel he isn’t making the wrong decision.” “Alright! I’m on it.” “He’s in the garden, by the way.” Ralph informed me, and I smiled lightly. “Thanks.” I appreciated him, then I stepped out of the room and walked towards the garden. On getting to the garden, I saw him standing and gazing at the sky with both hands in his pockets. I knew he was going through a lot, and had a lot of responsibilities burdening him. So, all he needed was things to go a bit eas
SCARLET’S POV It was dawn already, and was time for us to set out for her journey. If it was an outing, I would have been so excited about it, but then, it was a dangerous journey which we are just going on for the sake of a friend which we have taken as a family. Even from the name, the world beyond, one would have known that it isn’t a place one can take lightly. For Elias to have been so adamant on us not going there, it was evident that it wasn’t like other dangerous places that we have gotten ourselves into. “Are you certain you are ready?” Elias asked me as we headed towards the woods. “I am more than ready.” I responded to him, not wanting to sound discouraging. Even if I wanted to sound discouraging, it shouldn’t be from here when he could easily turn back and by then, whatever I do, might not make him change his mind, anymore. We didn’t have to walk too much before we got to the woods, and that only made me feel a little anxious. But then, I had to stop myself from getti
