Chapter 5

“Then why did you kidnap me?” I asked.

He put the gun on the table before he stood up, and went to the near bar counter of the mansion. His broad back greeted my eyes as he walked.

“Stop asking,” he mentioned.

My shoulders stooped. I complained, “I want to know! I want to know why did you guys brought me here.”

“Just stop asking, Eris. Stop wasting your time asking me why.”

“Why? I... I need a reason!”

“Just how dare you to ask me?”

That shut me up and I even jumped at my feet. His voice were loud and clear that it started making me feel scared amd nervous. Shoot. I pissed him off.

“It’s not like a relationship that when someone broke up with you, you would demand for a reason why did he break up with you!”

I gasped. His words struck right at my heart instantly, making me feel suffocated and frozen. It was as if he was slapping me the reality that I was heartbroken.

Clearing my throat as I mustered the courage I still have, I managed to say, “Reason. I just want to—”

“Just shut up, Eris!”

“I just can’t understand!” I shouted. “You guys kidnapped me, but... but you are letting me live in this big house, taking care of me and—”

“Do you really want to die?” he asked which sounded like a threat for me. Dropping the bottle too loud made my heart explode in fear and surprise. “Just behave yourself here if you don’t want to get hurt.”

I breathed heavily as I stared at him. “You scared the hell out of... of me, but sometimes you’re warm to me,” I said which made him stop from mixing the beverages he got in around the bar.

Looking at me with his scary eyes, he answered, “I can scare you more if you keep on asking.”

I bit my lower lip as I pressed my hands. “I know, you’re not as evil as the other guys so please... please just let me go.”

With his creased forehead and pissed off expression, he came back beside me holding a glass of drink.

“I kidnapped you, so I’m actually as evil as the others,” he uttered and sipped his drink.

“You’re not.”

“I’m a bad guy.”

“Just please, let me go! I’m scared!” I shouted at him once more.

His sharp eyes immediately gazed on mine. I saw a flicker of emotion in his eyes that I couldn’t identify yet, then silence between us followed.

He let out a sigh before he started to inch closer to me. He asked, “Is it still painful?”

I stared at him. As his question confused me, I again remembered Rygel, so a bitter smile flashed on my face.

“Really... painful,” I answered.

“I guess so. Dominique’s hand is pretty big.”

“Oh,” I gasped and came back to reality. “You mean, my cheek. Y-yes, right.”

I realized that he was asking me about the slap I got from that man. Poor me.

“What are you thinking?”

I wagged my head and said, “It’s n-nothing.”

“Let me see.” I slowly shifted a little backwards when I saw him getting closer and closer to me.

“W-what are you d-doing?” I stammered that I almost dropped the ice bag. He didn’t even bother giving me an answer, instead, he made himself already on the top of me. He was breathing heavily, so I almost sniffed all of his manly scent mixed with alcohol. It made my whole being startled.

“You can’t escape from here,” he whispered against my ear. “You can use my room if you’re tired. It’s almost past midnight. I suppose, you want to rest.”

I saw him stretched his arm behind my head and reached for his shirt. Just as he moved away from me, I clutched my chest because it felt like it was going to explode.

“I-I’ll go u-upstairs,” I said as I looked away.

“Good night.”

I immediately stood up and marched away from him after he said goodnight. Before I went upstairs, I glanced at him and saw him wearing his shirt. He even drank his glass straight as he started to play his gun again.

Who are you?

I laid my body comfortably on bed as I kept my eyes on the chandelier inside Thalem’s room, still confused and scared.

“I wish this is just a bad dream,” I mumbled before I closed my eyes. I fell asleep with a lot of unanswered questions in my mind.

The next morning was a great exercise for my heart.

“What are you doing here?” I shouted from the top of my lungs when I woke up with my face buried on Thalem’s chest. He was half naked while sleeping beside me, so I immediately pulled him away as I bolted upright the bed.

“Why are you shouting?” he said with his husky voice, eyes closed.

“Why... w-why are you here?” I screamed once more as I wrapped the blanket around me. His eyebrows met as he slowly sat on the bed, facing me. He first rubbed his eyes before giving me an answer.

“This is my room. This is my bed and wait. You didn’t remember?” My eyes widened instantly.

“W-what? What are you s-saying?” I bit my lower lip as I tried to remember what was he talking about until I saw him grinned.

“You sure... you can’t remember?”

“Hey!” I snorted. “W-what? What did you do to me?”

“Poor you,” he said teasingly.

“We had sexed last night, you can’t remember that?” I couldn’t say much, words wouldn’t form, not until I fully realized what he had just said.

I immediately looked at myself under the blanket, then shouted, “Fuck, you jerk! Get out!”

“Ouch, my ear. Tsk,” he said annoyed as he covered both of his ears with his hands.

“Fuck you, Thalem! Why did you rape me?” My voice echoed in the room as I started to throw the pillows on him.

“Okay, calm down. I didn’t rape you,” he said. “We did it.”
