Chapter 13

Della's POV

We head to the hospital the following day and track down Luca with a couple of different folks. I chose not to go to the hospital the previous evening since it was past Daisy’s bed time and and the girl needed to rest expected to rest.

"Hello, Della." Luca says cheerfully as he approaches me.

"Hello, Luca." I greet him warmly and respite before asking him apprehensively,

"Where is Alessandro be?"

"Follow me and I'll take you to him." He says and gestures for us to follow him to Alessandro's room.

I go to Daisy who is taking cover behind me and get her hand before I follow Luca.

As we stroll into his room, my eyes land on Fedele, Dario, and one more kid whom I've never seen.

Dario gives me a look as cautiously as possible that shows he doesn't need me here. I disregard his look and go to the bed to see Alessandro with his hands over his eyes.

Daisy takes cover behind my legs once more. I'm certain this is a direct result of the large number of men in the room. I make a soun
