“We are far from finished, Miss Scarlett. In fact, we’re just getting started,” the doctor said with a smile that irked me.

The steady beeping of the machine felt louder now, almost as if it was mocking me.

“What more do you want from me? I’ve answered all your questions. Isn’t that enough?”
