Chapter 6

Isabella's POV:

In my head, I tried to shake off every kind of thought I was having run through my mind.

Taking deep breaths and calming myself down.

Brace up girl, let's just focus on now, here in this kitchen with Lisa. 

I then turned to face Lisa, she already had all the ingredients to be used for the baking out on the kitchen counter. 

Do you know how to bake?

Lisa asked me.

Not good at it, I just try baking sometimes.

Oh don't worry girl, I'll teach you today. I am very good at it.

Well let's start, get the dry ingredients together while I mix the wet ingredients for the next couple of hours was so much into the baking and it was so fun that it helped me forget my worries for a while.

I had all my focus and concentration on the baking to even be worried or concerned about anything else.

One of the other ladies entered the kitchen. I remembered that Lisa called her Christabel earlier in the day when I met them in the kitchen and she introduced us.

Hello ladies, Christabel greeted us with a smile on her face and I can agree she has a beautiful smile.

Uhm, Lisa, I'm done tidying up Nate's study. He also saw me just now and he asked after Isabella.

Ehnm me?

What do you think he wants? Or do you think he wants to ask for my conclusion about what he asked me earlier, if he should kill my boyfriend and his friends or if I want to return home?

Oh my, I thought he gave me till evening, I've not even had time to think about it.

I forgot about all of my troubles while baking with you Lisa.

What do I do now?

I kept on saying all sorts of things until Lisa came close to me and tried to calm me down.

Don't worry about it okay?

Calm down, just see him for now, nobody knows what he's going to say to you.

In my opinion, I don't think he's going to hurt you at all because if he wanted to he would have done it since. Even before coming back home with you last night.

I only stood there like a statue, looking very lost as I was listening to Lisa. I got a grip of myself suddenly and decided to go see Nate, to know the reason he's been asking after me all day. 

After all, I can't run and dodge him forever. I freaking live in his house and I'm fully surrounded by his people. No escape.

I faced Christabel to ask her where I would find Nate, it was then I noticed her looking at me with so much concern in her eyes. It was as if she knew how I was feeling.

Ehnm Christabel, please where is Nate? Where can I find him around the house?

Oh! yeah! Right! Nate ehn

I and Lisa just watched her as she found it hard to form words in her mouth.

Nate should be in his study, she eventually said. He was heading there while I was coming to the kitchen.

Okay, thank you. I said to her, I glanced back at Lisa briefly but enough to see her smile at me and wish me luck with my meeting with Nate.

I turned back to face the door, I took deep breaths but my feet were moving at a slow pace.

I went out of the kitchen door then immediately remembered that I didn't know where the study was located in the house.

The house is really big and I remembered Lisa giving me a warning early this morning that there are rooms I shouldn't go into.

I immediately turned back and entered the kitchen making Christabel and Lisa jump in surprise as they were not expecting to see me come back in such a short time.

I smiled a bit looking at the fear on their faces.

Calm down, nothing happened, I only came back to ask where the study is around the house because I'm afraid of entering the wrong room and putting myself into more trouble than I am already in.

Oh well, I thought something terrible had happened in the split seconds you left here Lisa said.

Okay, no problem, come with me, I'll take you there.

Christabel volunteered to show me where the study was but before she moved I spoke up again as fear set in my mind.

Do I have to leave now?

Why don't we just finish up our baking, thecalendardr up this place so I can go see him when the cake batter is in the oven?

Christabel looked at me with confusion spread out all over her, this is fear I see here.

She said, isn't it?

Okay Yes, it's scary meeting him alone but still, we do need to finish baking and clear up this place, then I promise, as soon as it is in the oven, I'll go meet Nate.

Let's finish up then so as not to waste any more time

In less than 30 minutes we were done even though I was trying to drag out the time a bit more by being slower than usual. 

Lisa set the heat of the oven up, to preheat the oven before she placed the cake batter in the oven. She then set the timer.

She faced me and said done, then Christabel walked towards me and grabbed my hands, then pulled me out of the kitchen door.

I just wish the baking would have taken longer, I thought to myself.

Climbing up the stairs and taking a right turn, then she stopped at the fourth room by the corner.

We are here.

Here is the study.

She told me to knock on the but because of my reluctance she di,d instead.

The knock came crushing the silence and in just about a second after the knock, we heard a voice behind the door saying to us, who's there?

Christabel pinched me so I could answer.

Ehnm, it's Isabella, Lisa and Christabel told me you've asked after me so I came to see you.

Okay, come in.

Christabel opened the door and nudged me inside, she made sure I had entered the room properly before going back and closing the door after her.

I stood there for a while, shivering and my heart pounding against my chest.

After some time, Nate raised his head to look at me and he said, What is your reply about what I asked earlier?
