Chapter 12: Getting Brave

Valerie was standing beside Evander as she watched Haunter and Martin face each other. She doesn't really know his reason for asking for a spar and she couldn't even grab any emotions from his face, she watched Haunter fix his hand gloves.

"Ready?" Evander asked and Haunter nodded. "Start" he nodded at him and Valerie twitched her lips a little.

Haunter was the first to attack. He kept going for Martin but Martin kept dodging effortlessly and as usual, his face lacked expression. He finally caught Haunter's hands that were coming to his lower abdomen and he twisted it backwards.

"Argh!" Haunter groaned a bit.

Valerie gasped to herself, she wasn't the owner of the hand but she could feel the pain from where she stood. She bit her lips and continued rubbing her fingers on her palms nervously.
