Skylar

I woke up with what felt like a hammer pounding against my skull.

Ugh.

I groaned, turning my face away from the light that slipped through the curtains.

Everything hurt. My head, my back, even the muscles in my thighs. I reached out, fumbling blindly for something—maybe a glass of water?—but all I touched was the cool bed sheet.

I peeled one eye open, blinking against the soft light filtering into the room.

My vision was blurry at first. The bedroom was slightly messy, clothes I didn’t remember taking off were flung carelessly on the chair in the corner. The air felt unusually warm against my skin.

Wait.

My skin?

I slowly sat up. The sheets slipped down my body, revealing bare shoulders.

Oh no.

I was completely, utterly naked.

My heart froze.

What… what happened last night?

I racked my brain, trying to remember —and just like that, they came flooding back in vivid, chaotic waves.

The party. Ethan.

Me losing it.

Tearing him apart with words I didn’t even know I had inside me.

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    A Son’s Burden

XavierI stood there, watching as my father’s men led Skylar away. I tried not to show any emotion, not to let the flicker of guilt that burned inside me show on my face. But it wasn’t easy.As they pushed her toward the building, I clenched my jaw tightly. My hands balled into fists at my sides. Skylar looked so small, so helpless, yet her eyes still held that fierce light I had always known her for. She wasn’t afraid of me, rather she was disappointed. And that cut deeper than anything, but I had no choice. When she was out of sight, I called out to one of the guards, “Handle her carefully. I don't want to see any cuts or bruises on her. Am I clear?”The guard turned to me with a skeptical look. His lip curled slightly, as though he wanted to ask why I even cared. But after a few seconds, he gave a reluctant nod and left with the rest.I exhaled slowly, trying to calm the storm inside me. Then, suddenly, my second phone began to ring. The name flashing on the screen made my stomach

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    The Drive of Deception

SkylarI sat in the back seat of the car with my wrists cuffed, and my hands resting on my lap.The cold metal bit gently into my skin every time the car hit a bump. Xavier sat beside me; silent, composed, and completely unrecognizable from the man I used to trust. If anyone had told me a few hours ago that he was behind all this, I would’ve called that person mad. But here I was, sitting beside him, being driven to God-knows-where.It all made sense now… the reason Troy and his men had so easily allowed me to leave the house earlier. No protests, no insistence to follow — something completely unlike them. I had found it strange at the time but brushed it aside, too focused on the warning about my mother. I thought they trusted me to handle myself. Now I understood.Xavier must have told them to stand down. After all, he was the head of Cole’s entire security network. His orders carried authority.I glanced at my small black handbag beside me and let out a quiet sigh. I turned my head

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    Unauthorized Order

ColeI flipped to the last page of the folder, my eyes narrowing as the words sank in.“This…” I muttered under my breath before finally looking up at Amber. “Where exactly did you get this folder again?”She stood across the desk, her posture stiff and expression serious.Even Marcus, who was standing beside me, looked equally taken aback. He leaned forward, eyes scanning the documents carefully.“These are solid,” he said quietly, almost in disbelief. “Even my top investigator couldn’t dig this deep. Whoever compiled this… they knew what they were doing.”Amber sighed softly, her voice firm. “That’s because it came from a father who risked everything to gather this evidence. I told you the late family lawyer gave it to Skylar before he was killed. Apparently, Mr. McLair was already compiling proof before his death. It’s clear Minister Adams Buckman was behind it all.”I looked down at the open folder again. Every page was another glimpse of the kind of corruption and cruelty Uncle A

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    Betrayal Within

Skylar“Head back home without me,” I told the driver the moment the car stopped in front of the hospital gate.He blinked, looking puzzled. “Ma’am, are you sure? Troy isn't here and you might need me to…”“No,” I interrupted softly. “Just head home.”He hesitated for a few seconds before nodding. “Yes, ma’am.”I gave him a faint smile, though my heart was far from calm. As soon as the car pulled away, I let out a slow breath and looked down at my phone. It was switched off. I had to do it. I had no choice. For a moment, I stood there in silence, gripping my phone tightly. Then I glanced at my wristwatch. Amber must have reached Cole by now. She would have given him the folder, just as I planned. That thought brought a small wave of relief. I trusted Cole enough to handle the folder and make sure that Minister Adams’ lies and deceit were exposed to the public and that he paid for everything he did to my father. As for me, I needed to handle something else.Taking a deep breath, I walk

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    Fragments of Truth

ColeI sat in my office, reviewing another financial report, another damage-control strategy, another sleepless reminder of how far Uncle Adams had managed to push me.I was in the middle of reading a report when a knock sounded on my door.“Come in.”The door opened, and Marcus walked in.“Marcus,” I said, gesturing toward the chair across from my desk. “You’re right on time. Any update?”He sat down but didn’t answer right away. Instead, he studied me for a moment with an unreadable look before he finally asked, “Cole, have you seen the news today?”I blinked. “No,” I said honestly. “I’ve been tied up in business video meetings all day.”Marcus let out a slow sigh and reached for my laptop, pulling it closer to him. His fingers moved quickly across the keyboard, then he turned the screen toward me.“Watch this,” he said quietly.I leaned forward, my eyes fixed on the screen as a video began to play. It was a news report.“This is breaking news. Barrister Austin Wilson Jobs was shot

  • Sweet Submission: Love Me, Mr. Billionaire    The Man Beneath The Ruin

Skylar On the screen, my father clenched his fists, his jaw tight with suppressed fury. “When they first approached me, I thought it was a blessing. I thought I had landed the biggest project of my life. I thought I was helping the company grow. I didn’t know they only wanted one thing… control. Control over my shipping routes. They used my exportation company to shield their operations. They smuggled young girls inside containers of American crude oil shipments. Using my business. My name.” I gasped loudly in horror. Amber’s hand covered her mouth in shock. Her eyes was filled with unshed tears. On the screen, my father’s voice cracked. “When I discovered the truth, I confronted them. I threatened to expose them, to report them. But they… they turned it back on me. They told me if I tried, they would make it seem like I was the mastermind. That all the blood would be on my hands. That I would die branded as a mon
