Chapter 3

"So, what does Andrea Rodriguez do? I heard you're popular with guys?" Mrs. Reagan said.

I smiled even though I was forced to do that, I also needed to leave my friends just to sit with them and interrogate me.

I sighed, maybe my bad day wasn't done yet because I am sitting at the same table facing this annoying man. How am I supposed to enjoy my caramel latte? Argh!

"Andrea?" Mrs. Reagan called my name so I immediately turned to her and stopped drinking my latte.

"Y-yes?"

"Mrs. Reagan is talking to you, Andrea. Why are you so occupied?" My father said even if his voice was calm, I know deep inside him I am dead.

"A-ah, sorry. I just came back from vacation and I'm a little bit tired, so you know?" I laughed forcedly.

"Really? You love traveling?"

"Yes, indeed."

"Lovely! That was my son's hobby, he travels a lot but he's not around often. But I am sure you two will have a good relationship soon."

I spit out my latte because of what she said, while my father? He was glaring at me and I can see that from my peripheral vision. I am definitely dead when we get home.

I helped Mrs. Reagan from wiping the stain that clung into her beautiful dress. I can even see how annoyed she was, and that was a good start, right?

"No, iha. I'm fine, it's just a dress."

"But I ruined your beautiful purple dress, my father can pay for it. Name your price."

"Pardon?"

My father cleared his throat to get our attention because maybe I made a wrong move.

"Why don't we talk about the wedding? My daughter has a dream wedding, like a beach wedding. Maybe your son is interested in that kind of wedding?"

Our gaze landed on the man who was still silent after seeing his parents earlier. I don't know what's wrong with this guy but I don't care.

"My son is not picky, he can marry Andrea in every place she wants. We can set an early date for their wedding," Mr. Reagan replied.

"That's great, I'm going to call her mother as soon as possible."

"I'm not marrying her," Kalix abruptly said, he made our head turn to him because of that.

"Kalix! What are you talking about?"

"I'm not marrying her, dad," He repeated.

He's fighting his father's sharp gazes, I can't see any sign of fear in his eyes.

"I barely know that woman, and I'm not ready to have a family. I am just twenty three years old but you're tying me to this wedding. Don't you even want to ask me if I wanted to get married?"

"Because I know you don't. So, stop making a scene in front of Andrea's father."

"Right, I was making a scene again. I am the youngest entrepreneur in this city and you're son, how can you decide for myself?" Kalix reasoned.

"I'm a grown up man, dad. You shouldn't do it for me because I knew what I wanted and what decision to make."

"How can I marry an unrespectable girl? I have dreams and she is not included with the dreams I have."

Neither I, Kalix. I don't want this marriage so you did a great job.

"I think your son was right."

"Andrea!"

"What? He was right, dad, we couldn't marry each other because you want us to do that, I don't want to tie myself to a man I didn't love. Besides, we don't have a good meeting so that's enough to call this wedding off."

My reason is valid. He cannot send me to the wedding because he had enough of me, I'm not a good daughter and I know that.

"Why don't we call it a night?" Kalix's father said before standing up followed by his wife.

"Sure, we'll get in touch."

Mr. Reagan nodded, "Come on, Kalix."

They left the place as soon as Kalix stood up from his seat. Left me and my dad alone, I finished my caramel latte and about to leave our table when my father cleared his throat and I knew we're dealing with my disobedience.

"When did you wanna learn how to respect others? We're in front of Kalix's parents and I am wishing you to behave for once."

He glared at me, "How could you not behave yourself while talking to your fiance's parents and ruined Mrs. Reagan's dress!"

Here we go, he's starting to scold me again.

"What's the reason for this wedding anyway? You trick me, dad. You told me you're handing me my money yet I came with this unexpected wedding," I murmured.

"That man is a jerk. He didn't even pay for the damages he caused to my car."

"You meet him?" My father asked.

I rolled my eyes, "Yes, I do. We met an hour ago before you found us fighting, it's not my fault. He fed me with smoke coming from his motorcycle, so I'm not marrying that man even though he's the only man left in the world."

"Even so, you are still marrying that guy. No further questions."

That's all he said before leaving me quickly. I remained silent on my seat because my dad never stops invading my personal life, he always finds a way to annoy me.

Why did I do to deserve this? I am bad which is not new to me because everyone hates me, except for my friends.

"Don't be sad, Andy," Gaby hugged me.

I didn't feel their approach, maybe my mind is too occupied because one of these days, I'll become someone's wife.

"Gaby was right, Andrea. Don't be sad, we're here to stay on your side," Cassie uttered.

"Thank you," I sniff, they never leave me.

"Fathers are always against our freedoms, I have the same dad like yours. He once did that to me, but I did everything to stop my wedding to a man I didn't love," Maddy said.

"And I received the best gift in my life."

I envy Madeline. She was once tied to a wedding by her father but she slept with a man before her wedding came, she did that for almost a month not until her parents discovered she was pregnant with an unknown guy's baby.

That was unexpected but planned, so as the daughter of the Wang family and to save their reputation. Her parents call the wedding off, and keep her baby away from her.

Tragic, right?

"I wish I could do that," I uttered while wiping my nose.

"You can, babe. I can be your teacher if you want?" She grinds.

"Maddy! Stop encouraging her, we are supposed to ease her feelings, not teach her how to get pregnant to stop her wedding!" Cassie scolds her.

Madeline shrugged, "I am just giving her an option."

"That's not a good option," she looked at me, "Don't listen to Maddy, okay? We'll find a better way to stop your wedding but for now? I want you to smile for me because we have a party to catch."

"Yeah, Andy. Pull yourself together and let's party! Whooo!"

I chuckled before glancing at them one at a time, they always made me smile and have my back when the time was tough.

I'm going to find a way to get rid of my wedding, for now I have a party to catch.

Kalix's POV I am stuck at the middle of the road because of the heavy traffic ahead of me, and couldn't wait any longer because I have a wedding to catch. This is frustrating. When I found out Andrea is getting married with her childhood friend, so without any questions and hesitation. I came home just to stop her from marrying that man. This is unbelievable, I know. Rejecting her and left without telling her where place I'm going to stay, especially since I distanced myself from her when we came back to our city. However, I realized how important she is for me. She's the woman I want to marry and be with forever, that's why I'm not letting her marry him out of pity..."F*ck! This traffic is getting into my nerves!" I pressed my car's horn several times because of frustration. If I can't make it on time. I'll definitely blame myself. But this traffic is getting worst! What an unlucky day. My father's friends, investors and even known millionaires was invited, enough to make me anxious and made me vomit. Marrying David was out of my league because I don't want him to give my love, especially since it already belongs to someone else. I don't want to use him as a rebound, but I already did. So, I hate myself from being so careless and self-centered. "Ms. Rodriguez, your father message me. They are waiting inside," the driver remind me that I'm getting married. "Oh, sorry. Got a little nervous..." I reasoned."That's normal, miss. I remember the day I married the girl in my dreams, that day I almost passed out in joy."He chuckled, "I humiliate myself

Andrea's POV "We never thought you're going to marry someone else this fast," Maddy said while checking the latest magazine for wedding gowns in the famous shop we stop by. "Yeah, Maddy was right. I thought you are destined to him, and can't wait to see you two walking on the aisle. But, my thoughts was pretty wrong from the very beginning. I don't have to say what," Cassie muttered. "Well, at least our best friend is finally getting married. Am I right?" Gabriela disposed. They agreed to what Gabriela said and I'm busy searching for my dress, and gladly my friends are here to help me to choose what's best for my unplanned wedding. However, I couldn't stop thinking about him. I'm referring to Kalix, and that's quite inappropriate for me. This wedding wasn't even part of my plan at the first place but because of my anger, and I was carried away by that. I provoke myself to do such unacceptable actions that lead me here, which is inescapable because David was elated."Have you find

But everything change quickly as the days passed by, and as the day passing by. Andrea changing moderately. She changed to someone whose so genuine and caring, and become someone who I never see in my life. "No, she doesn't need me anymore. Andrea can stand with her own feet and doesn't need any help from me," I replied. "Whatever my daughter did, hope you forgive her and stay. Even though she looked feisty, she's still the fragile girl we know..." Mr. Rodriguez muttered. "I highly doubt that, sir. Andrea wasn't afraid anymore, she is no longer the girl we know. She's not terrified, scared, or even using her rude side to fight with everyone else. She is not the woman we know..." I answered. My childhood best friend change, but I think that's good? I mean, she no longer need me and doesn't have to came

He's not staying on his penthouse anymore and this is my last chance talking to him, when his father told me he own a small house. Kalix is very modest for living on a tiny yet cozy house, but I think he's not living here anymore since I still receive nothing. This is my first time falling in love but already lost the chances to have the man I love. Does it mea

  • The Playboy's Sweet Karma   Chapter 153

Kalix's POVI parked my car and head outside, before glimpsing to her room and the lights is already off. I glanced at the window intently and sighed because it's been weeks since decided to distance myself away from her, and cut the unexpected bond we share at the beach. Perhaps it's my fault because I tame a very unfriendly person, and now need to pay what kind of consequences awaits me. I set an alarm to my car beforehand heading inside, which everything is eaten by darkness. But I ignore that odd and unusual darkness because whenever I'm coming home to this mansion late, the lights is on. Yes, I intentionally went home late to avoid Andrea and to rescued her from falling in love with me. However, when I was about to step on the stairs. The light turn on and saw her standing on the end of the stairs, she probably waiting for me although her sights already falling asleep. While I'm in the first floor looking at her because I thought she's already asleep, and doesn't need to deal h

FIVE DAYS AGOAndrea's POV I've been laying on my bed for almost three hours and still waiting for him to come home. I don't know but he always come home late and it made me feel Kalix trying to avoid me for five days! I've been waiting for him every night and end up falling asleep, as if he knew I can't stay awake that longer and that case he doesn't need to deal with me. And scientifically speaking, this house felt empty because I was all alone since coming home from vacation and my friends are quite busy with their own lives. My father and I already discussed about everything, and forgive him for all the mistakes he'd done. I even asked my biological family to let Cassie back to our lives because she's my sister and can't live without her. I immediately woke up to my bed when heard a car parked outside the mansion, so I checked myself on the mirror to make sure I am still fresh. Before heading downstairs with excitement and my heart beating fast at the same time. In my surprised

Kalix's POVWhen everyone was busy having a chat in the living room, I decided to make my way out of the house because of my job waiting for me in my office. I already see them and for me that's enough to go home, and not stay here. But when I was about to grab the doorknob, Gabriela grabbed it first and blocked my way. She's holding it tightly and looking at my eyes intently. As if Gabriela has something to say to me but having second thoughts how to start it. "Where'd you think your going?" She asked. "Leaving, I guess? I have no business here anymore, so it's time for me to leave.""Pardon?" She muttered. "What? Did I say something wrong?" I answered. "For goodness sake, Kalix. This is your time!""What'd you mean?""Don't be such innocent, Kal. Andrea was inside and that's your chance to speak with her, especially since you have a memorable vacation in Florida. Aren't you?" She muttered. "Wait, how did you know about that? Don't tell me...""Yes!" She immediately answered, "
