Chapter 4

　　Anna walked to the deserted park, and finally released the emotions she had been suppressing.

　　She could get the money back, but what now? He had betrayed her, and had broken her heart. Even if she used to feed the dog, he had bitten her!

　　Five years. From high school to university, Hans Lin was her senior. She had really looked forward to marrying him after graduation, and to start a family with him in this city.

　　Hans Lin\'s words just now echoed in his ears.

　　She had never stayed overnight with him because every time he would ask her to help write work reports and sort out patient records. She didn’t want to be late for the next day\'s class, so she always went back to the dormitory early. There, she’d stay up late studying and doing homework.

　　She never wore makeup because she thought it was a waste of money.

　　Grandma was in the intensive care unit, and most of her money went to her medical treatment. Though, admittedly, she had saved some money for the down payment of their house, now it felt like she’d been punished for not saving it for her grandmother instead.

　　At least she was sensible enough to know that she had no business prioritizing clothes and cosmetics over her grandmother’s treatment.

　　Anna shook her head with a wry smile.

　　Those words coming out of that scumbag’s mouth, why should she take it seriously? Raising her hand to wipe the wetness from the corner of her eyes, Anna let out a sigh.

　　Now that she\'d broken up with him, she will have a better future. She didn’t even want to waste time mourning.

　　When Chloe Wang got home, she couldn\'t wait to tell her parents that she was going to be married to Louie Chu and become the wife of a wealthy man.

　　However, she didn\'t plan on saying that she was posing as someone else.

　　Mr. John Wang and his wife didn\'t believe it at first. How could such a great thing randomly happen to them?

　　Why would Louie Chu, from a top wealthy family like the Chu family, suddenly marry their daughter?

　　Hector Wei called.

　　\"This is Louie Chu\'s personal assistant!\" Chloe Wang explained to her parents triumphantly, then connected to the phone and put it on speaker.

　　Mr. John Wang and his wife were afraid they might say the wrong thing, so they let their daughter do all the talking.

　　\"Miss Chloe, the Mr. Chu said that the old lady will see you tomorrow. I hope you can prepare well in advance.\"

　　Chloe Wang nodded hurriedly. \"Okay! I’ll be ready.\"

　　Hector Wei shuddered and said. \"Clothes and accessories will be sent to you later, you just need to bring the token.\"

　　\"Token?\" Chloe Wang was startled.

　　Hector Wei explained. \"It\'s the necklace that Mr. Chu gave you last night. It\'s a token for Mrs. Louie Chu.\"

　　Chloe Wang panicked, she didn\'t have a necklace at all!

　　\"If not...what would happen?\"

　　Hector\'s tone changed abruptly, \"Why? Don’t you have it?\"

　　Chloe Wang realized that she had said something wrong and quickly changed her words. \"I mean, just in case I can\'t find it.\"

　　\"If it is lost, the old lady will definitely not recognize you. Try to remember where you left it.\"

　　\"No!\" Chloe Wang said in a panicked voice.

　　\"No, I mean I probably…just misplaced it. You know, we had to pack in a hurry, and I haven’t had time to unpack, I don\'t know where I put it... By the way, it was too dark last night. I didn\'t pay attention to the appearance of the necklace, I can\'t remember what it looked like, Assistant Wei, you—— \"

　　\"Okay, I\'ll send you the photo later.\"

　　Her mother Wendy Zhang looked at it and sighed, \"Is such a worthless necklace actually Mrs. Chu’s token?\".

　　Oh, now I remember! This necklace is the one on Anna\'s neck.

　　Wendy Zhang went to get Chloe\'s suitcase.

　　After speaking, Chloe Wang went out.

　　It took a while for Mr. John Wang and Wendy Zhang to react.

　　Wendy Zhang patted her chest. \"This girl makes us nervous. But how can we put such an important thing outside...\"

　　Chloe Wang went back to school to find Anna.

　　She must get back the necklace and become Mrs. Louie Chu!

　　Just then, Anna was sitting in the car going home.

　　She lived in the same community as Chloe. To be precise, this was the home of her adoptive parents.

　　She was an abandoned baby, adopted by her grandmother. When she was fifteen, Grandma was seriously ill, and their foster parents brought them both to the city.

　　Her adoptive parents had a son, two years younger than her, who was still in his third year of high school.

　　Just now, her foster mother Sidney Zhou had called her back to teach John Zhang his homework.

　　John was addicted to games. He played games all day. He didn’t care about school at all. He had absolutely no intention to get good grades or even learning any sort of skill.

　　Sometimes, she’d get so frustrated, she wanted to pry open his skull and stuff the test paper inside.

　　After finally giving him a set of test paper questions, Anna returned to the room to sort her things out.
