Calla's Perspective

The arrival of Alpha Aidan from Snowmoon Pack was refreshingly different from the formal pageantry that had accompanied Kieran's entrance. Instead of a convoy of vehicles and an entourage of pack members, a single black SUV pulled up to the packhouse just after noon, and only one man stepped out.

I watched from the main hall window as he stretched, looking around the territory with obvious appreciation rather than assessment. Where Kieran had immediately begun cataloguing Moonveil's strengths and weaknesses, this Alpha seemed to simply be enjoying the mountain air and forest views.

"Interesting," Uncle Alric murmured beside me. "Most Alphas travel with at least a Beta and a few warriors for diplomatic meetings."

"Maybe Snowmoon does things differently," I suggested, though I was curious myself. Everything I'd heard about Alpha Aidan painted him as capable and well

Venus's PerspectiveI adjusted my travel bag one final time as our car approached the Moonveil territory border, my wolf Aphrodite practically vibrating with nervous energy. At eighteen, I'd never been this far from Howling Ridge territory, and the idea of permanently relocating to a new pack was both terrifying and exhilarating.New territory, new pack, new opportunities, Aphrodite said with tentative excitement. We will adapt and thrive."Almost there, Venus," Aoife said from the passenger seat, turning to give me an encouraging smile. Her mating mark was clearly visible on her neck, and the contentment radiating from her through the family bond was reassuring. "You're going to love it here.""I hope so," I said, looking out at the towering pines that seemed to stretch endlessly in every direction. "It's certainly different from home."Gamma Caleb, who'd volunt

Calla's PerspectiveThe formal diplomatic meetings with Alpha Aidan were a refreshing change from the intensity I'd grown accustomed to with visiting pack leaders. Where other Alphas often approached discussions with underlying agendas or political calculations, Aidan seemed genuinely interested in understanding how the network functioned and how Snowmoon could contribute meaningfully."The communication relay system is brilliant," he said, studying the maps Maya had laid out showing the various pack territories and their connection points. "How do you handle disputes between member packs?""We are working on developing a council structure," I explained, pointing to the different regions. "Each area will have representatives who can mediate issues before they escalate. The goal isn't to control the packs, but to provide frameworks for cooperation."Unlike Kieran, who had immediately

Maya's PerspectiveThe morning air was crisp as I walked toward the training grounds behind the packhouse, carrying my ritual supplies in a worn leather satchel. Today felt different—charged with anticipation and the familiar tingle of strong magic approaching. Aunt Iris had arrived at dawn, her timing impeccable as always, claiming she'd felt the need to check on my progress with my abilities. But I suspected there was more to her visit than magical training.Calla and Thorne were already waiting when I arrived, both looking pleased about seeing Iris again. Calla sat cross-legged on a fallen log, the morning sunlight making her auburn hair shine with copper highlights, while Thorne leaned against a nearby tree with the easy grace of someone completely comfortable in his territory."Iris!" Calla called out with genuine warmth as my aunt emerged from the forest path. "It's so go

Calla's PerspectiveI sat in my room that evening, the leather-bound book Alpha Kieran had given me resting unopened on my desk. Despite my genuine interest in Golden Wolf history, I found myself unable to focus on reading. Lyra had been restless and agitated ever since the run, and her unease was affecting my own peace of mind."I do not like him," Lyra said bluntly, her mental voice sharp with disapproval. "There is something calculated about his interest in us. Something that feels like hunting rather than genuine attraction.""I know," I said aloud, setting the book down with a sigh. "There's something about him that feels... wrong. Not dangerous exactly, but not right either.""Gifts can be bait," Lyra replied with suspicious wisdom. "And his wolf... there was something predatory about the way he looked at us during the run. Not like someone hoping

Alric's PerspectiveI was reviewing territorial agreements in my office when a soft knock interrupted my concentration. The scent that drifted through the door told me exactly who was seeking an audience, and I had to suppress a sigh. Alpha Kieran had been making the rounds since yesterday's apparently unsuccessful run with Calla, and it seemed my turn had finally come."Enter," I called, setting aside the papers and preparing myself for what was likely to be a delicate conversation.Kieran stepped into my office with the easy confidence of someone accustomed to being welcomed wherever he went. He carried two cups of coffee and wore an expression of friendly collegiality that didn't quite reach his eyes."Alpha Alric," he said warmly, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything important. I brought coffee—thought we might have a chance to speak privately.""Of co
