Chapter 6

Elena's boyfriend's eyes widened and he stared at Rose in shock.

He walked closer to her, not believing she could easily change her mind. He tried to touch her but Rose shrugged his hands away with a frown and avoided him like a plague.

“Elena, why do you suddenly change your words? Have you forgotten who I am? I'm Stefan, your boyfriend and the only love of your life. What love are you talking about with this man? You only love me, don't you?” His voice was pained and he tried to touch Rose again but a glare from her made him halt and he clasped his hands together.

Rose scoffed and even snuggled further into Damon Salvatore, surprising the man himself.

Rose snickered, her manicured fingers finding its way into Damon Salvatore's arm. “Enough of your nonsense Stefan, you still have the gut to come to my husband's house to start claiming me? What right do you have? Did you think I'm a fool you can cheat or maybe you probably think that I'll not find out about your infidelity?”

Stefan quickly avoided her gaze as if he's feeling guilty.

She slowly starts to pinch Damon Salvatore’s bulging muscled arm which she clutched to. She secretly smirks while doing so, this is her chance of exact little revenge on a member of Salvatore's family. Although the pinch is nothing compared to the humiliation and betrayal she felt, she felt extreme satisfaction.

A frown made its way to Damon Salvatore's face as he tried to remove himself from the girl's grasp but he wasn't able to as she clung tightly to his arms.

He maintained eye contact with her and he saw her secretly smirking. His lips twitched and he almost clutched his forehead. The cunning and vixen-like girl before him was intentionally pinching him.

She was saying something else and doing another thing. ‘What a perfect match made for me from heaven.’ He thought sarcastically.

“Elena, I don't believe you have changed all of a sudden. It must definitely be this man's fault,” Stefan pointed his finger at Damon Salvatore with a glare.

“Inspector, Elena loves me so much. This man must have threatened her. Please do something Inspector.” Stefan pleaded with folded hands as his gaze shifted back to Elena clutching Damon's hand.

He felt very jealous and scoffed, how can Elena stoop so low to allow another man to touch her and that too not a real man, a cripple man at that. She's never allowed him to be this intimate with her.

The Inspector sighs not knowing what to say in this case or who to judge because how dare he when Damon Salvatore is sitting right in front of him, a single call from Damon Salvatore is enough to have him fired. The Inspector was very afraid of him, and the Inspector thought that's why Damon Salvatore isn't saying anything because he wanted him to make a mistake so he can have him fired.

And his wife has recently died, there's no news of the man getting married, when did he even get married that too to a beautiful girl like this?

Who was he to judge the mighty Damon Salvatore anyways, the Inspector once again looked at Stefan and shook his head lightly. Only a fool like Mr. Stefan didn't know Damon Salvatore and that's why he's speaking rubbish about him. The Inspector was already regretting coming to Damon Salvatore's house.

The Inspector secretly watched him as he sat silently like a powerless man, the Inspector felt goosebumps on his whole body. Only God knows what Damon Salvatore cannot do, human beings don't know that.

Rose turned to the Inspector, while continuing her little mission of revenge on Damon Salvatore's arm. The man didn't even blink or speak, he was silently enduring her treatment with a wicked thought circling in his mind.

“Inspector, I think Stefan here is just trying to prove himself better or maybe he's delusional because we had clearly broken up after I found out that he's a cheat. When we were dating, he was dating another girl too, a girl who was my course mate. Who knows maybe he comes here because the girl has broken up with him? I'm sorry but I won't go back to my leftovers. You can now take your leave, I'm happily married to Uncle Damon.”

Rose let out a mocking scowl seeing Stefan's widened eyes and guilty expression. He's obviously shocked and feeling flustered right now as he didn't know Elena will find out about his infidelity towards her. Rose scoffed loudly. It was all thanks to the memory of Elena she had, Elena had caught him cheating and had wanted to break up with the Stefan scumbag but she didn't have a chance yet because of the wedding.

“Elena, but you sent me a message this morning, didn't you? I'll show the message to you Inspector.” He brought out his phone from his pocket, and now everyone's gaze was directed at him wanting to see the message however he didn't see anything, it's as if Elena didn't message at all, and he didn't even delete the message. How could the message disappear all of a sudden?

Seeing his dejected face Rose knew he didn't see the message any longer so she let out a triumph laugh and mocked. “So, where's the message? Inspector, ask him to show you the message.”

The Inspector gave Stefan a grudging look and he spoke. “Mr. Stefan, it seems you're delusional as Mrs. Elena has said, and after all that has happened here we see that you're infatuated and couldn't come to terms that Mrs. Elena has broken up with you and gotten married.” The Inspector turned to Damon Salvatore.

“Mr. Salvatore, we are really sorry to have troubled you. We'll take our leave now.” The Inspector turned to leave but Damon Salvatore's voice made him halt while he shivered lightly.

“Not without taking the kid, you came together.” His voice was cold and same with his expression.

The Inspector has turned into a puddle of sweat. “Thank you for your benevolence sir. Officer take Mr. Stefan with you.”

The other officers went ahead to drag Stefan out of the house while he struggled and shouted. “Elena, just wait and see. You'll regret marrying the old crippled uncle. You'll eventually come on your knees begging me to accept you back.”
