Chapter 36

I and Laura went up later in the day after we picked out some fruits from the garden.

“I missed doing this with you.” She told me.

“You know I missed you as well.”

“Why was Mascot suddenly acting possessed? Did something happen to him?”

“I'm as confused as you. I'm really sorry you had to see that.” I apologized to Laura.

“It's actually better that I had seen that so I wouldn't waste my energy on unimportant things.”

She nodded. “You know I think you have been tolerating his excesses for so long, so I won't take it anymore. I cried for a couple of days, thinking you betrayed me but since it was he that wanted the break up, I'll just let him have it.”

I touched Laura's hands softly, not sure of what else I would do.

“I'm okay. I promise.” She assured me.

“Something happened during my meeting with Mascot.” I sat with Laura when I got to her place.

The few happenings of the past week have really shown me who I should trust and those I shouldn't. Laura was a friend I couldn't bear to lose
