Anna's POV

Lying on the bed, I couldn't help but think about how close Alpha Jasper and I had become recently. I wasn't referring to the night we made out here.

Like, the same Alpha Jasper whom I had considered ruthless and void of any emotion engaged me in a light hearted conversation before he left for his study room earlier.

“I bet he is just doing this because he wants something in return from me.” I muttered, rolling my eyes to the back of my head.

Ever since my mother visited, any time Alpha Jasper decided to have a conversation with me, my mind would return back to that moment when mother and I were speaking.

If anything, I didn't want Alpha Jasper to have even the slightest idea of the reason for her visit. If he could kill an Alpha because he crossed his line, I don't think he would spare the life of an ordinary pack member.
