8-Bonefire

Ashlynn POV.

The day was getting better, I was starting to feel better now, I'm going over to Kitty's place, the best place to ever be! And the hot guys training without a shirt is a big plus, me and Micah love to watch them over some hot chocolate, while Jordan would yell at the two of us to get inside and stop looking.

"Hey, kiki," I say sitting next to my bestie, she wasn't feeling little today, which is rare for her.

"Hey, love, what's up?" she answers me.

"I'm going to a bonfire today, want to join?" I ask her, she looks at me and nods.

"I'll talk to Jacob about it," she says, they are like the worse kind of boyfriend and girlfriend, they act like a married couple who can't be more than three feet apart.

"Sure," I say, wherever she goes he goes, it's a mate thing, a thing I never had before.

After breakfast, I went back to my room, I packed my things to get to Jordan's place, this time I was sure once I get there I'd be happy and well treated, nothing would hurt me there, and I would be safe. After I was done packing my things, I moved back downstairs to spend some girl time with Kiara, I'm not sure when I'd be back here.

"Kiki, I'm going over to Jordan's place for a while," I say but she turns to me with wide eyes, what's wrong with me going to my brother's place?

"What is it?" I ask her, what's wrong with that.

"Last time you left Ash, you came back a shell, a broken toy, I don't want that to happen again, are you back with Amber?" she asks me sounding like our real age now, we're both twenty-five now.

"I'm not back with her," I say with a growl, I hate her, I hate her so much!

"Then why are you leaving, I don't want you to leave," she says, but I shake my head, I need this.

"I'm going over to my brother's place, you're welcome to join me," I say instead, maybe then she'd believe I'm okay.

"Jacob can't leave, he got his beta's job, blah!" she says making me giggle.

"Don't let him hear you," I say with a chuckle.

"Let him hear me, Daddy you're always busy" she yells into the house.

"Keep it down Kiara, or I won't be busy and will tan your bum," he tells her walking into the living room and making us giggle.

"You're it," I say jumping up, touching Jacob's nose, he looked at us with confusion, and as I and Kiara start to run around, he had to play along.

"Kiara is it," Jacob yells after a minute of chasing us, we were running around the house playing now.

"Keiran is it," Kiara yells, coming into the kitchen after us, even the future alpha would join in the game.

"Kids," mom yells, when we were kids we did the same thing, we'd run after each other playing tag, but we did the same thing we did as children, we ignored her and kept on running.

"I'm going to get you," Kieran says running after me, he almost got me, but then sadly he did manage to get me, now I'm it.

"Ashlynn is it," he yells out loud to let the others know, as our game continued, Kiara was carried by her beta mate, Keiran was an alpha, and it was hard to catch anyone.

I saw Keiran close by, I pretended to have fallen on the ground, I even screamed.

"Ashlynn, you okay?" Keiran asks coming toward me, I stayed on the ground until he made it, only then did I get up, touching him, tagging him in.

"Keiran is it," I yell continuing the game.

We kept on playing for about an hour until I gave in, sitting down on the sofa cuddling with Kiara, Jacob and Keiran joined the cuddling party, hugging the two of us, for once I fell asleep, I was exhausted, the game, running and laughing, that kind of helped me calm down and sleep now.

I woke up feeling well-rested, even after I took a nap on the sofa with my siblings, I made myself a sandwich and ate the whole thing, before going to decide on what to wear tonight.

It's a bonfire, I don't want to look overdressed, but I also want to look decent for the night, after trying half of my closet over and over again, I decided on trousers along with a jumper, it gets cold during the night, I added my boots and fixed my hair, making sure I look good, the bonfire isn't until later tonight, but I'm enjoying taking care of myself.

"You two coming?" I ask Kiara and Jacob while we ate our dinner.

"Yeah, we coming," Jacob answers me.

"Keiran, you should come too!" I say excitedly.

"I doubt they'd want their future alpha to be there with them," Keiran says making me pout.

"Everyone loves you," I assure him.

"They love me, but they would like to celebrate and get drunk away from me," he assures me, well he's right, no one would dare to drink in front of him.

We finished our food in silence before we moved outside, there was no need for our cars, we were going out to the woods, it's just next to the home, not that far away, Kiara and Jacob were holding hands being the cute couple they always are, I rolled my eyes at them, really it gets old after a while. We saw the rest deep in the wood, with the fire already set, burning high, giving us light and ambience.

"Hi, Liam," I say greeting my friend, seeing others joining the party, I knew almost everyone, I greeted them by names, and everyone is on a friendly basis in the pack.

"You want a beer?" Liam offers me, I nod my head yes, he hands me one, and I took a sip. I saw others joining the party after that, these are the friends from the other pack, I suppose.

I was talking with my friends, laughing, but then it was a simple whiff of the smell, it was weak, but I recognize it, it's a scent that scares me, one that I shouldn't be afraid of, I'm the one recognizing it, I'm the one in charge now, but my heart was beating like crazy, I was afraid.

Without a second thought, I nodded my goodbyes to my friend and ran out, I'm going back to my car, I'll be leaving for Jordan's pack right now!
