Chapter fifteen

As Ryan and Max approached the cabin, Ryan noticed something strange. The door was still slightly ajar, just as it had been when he left. He felt a sudden sense of unease. Had someone been in the cabin while he was gone?

He cautiously pushed the door open and stepped inside, Max at his heels. The cabin was just as he had left it, but something felt different. He couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Then he saw it. The photo of him and his wife, which had been sitting on the windowsill, was now lying face down on the floor. Ryan's heart skipped a beat. Someone had definitely been here.
