MasukBLAKEThe nightmare this time was different.Instead of the darkness with a lot of whispers around me, I found myself in the woods. The same place my mother had died. But unlike the chaos I witnessed that day, this one was quiet. Too quiet that the only sound was the quick beats of my heart. The trees stood unnaturally still, no wind moving through their branches, no rustle of leaves, as if the entire forest was holding its breath along with me.I stood in a spot, afraid of taking even a step, afraid that any loud movements would bring back the whispers. But I didn't need to do that because Ava suddenly appeared, her hands folded, leaning on a tree as she lazily smirked at me.I took a step back, my fist curling beside me, waiting for what she might do next. She stood up straight, walking slowly towards me, the smirk replaced by a grin as she said, "Come on, are you still afraid?"I froze. That voice. It didn't belong to Ava."I silenced the whispers and brought you out here and you'r
TOMI picked up a stone and threw it into a bush, before picking another and doing the same. I was waiting near the path I knew schoolers took when they're going back home. I didn't want them to see me so I just hid a few distance away from the path. I wasn't familiar with Pete's schedule so I just waited, hoping he was going to pass soon. As they passed, I noticed some wrinkled noses, probably smelling me but couldn't see me. Just then, I saw Pete coming, no, limping a little. He had his bag swung on one shoulder while a canvas was held on his other side. His face was stained with bruises that I hadn't seen on him the other day. It reminded me of Blake.I came out of my spot, making some teens glanced my way, hushed voices filling the air. As soon as Pete sighted me, his eyes widened as he halted. I folded my arms as I got closer, "Why do you look surprised? I told you we would meet again.""I don't think you did?" He said hesitantly.I thought for a moment, "maybe you're right. B
TOM The day had just gone by in half. My mind kept drifting back to the same unanswered questions, that the more I thought about them, the more my legs moved to the person who'd have the answers. I made my way to Blake's flat, but this time, it wasn't to see him. Of course I'd stop by but that's not where I'm heading first. I'm going to see Pete and possibly meet his brother. Though Malfada hasn't told me anything about how they were able to hide their powers from everyone, I wanted to do something on my part. And that was questioning them till they let something slip. I don't know about Pete's brother but I'm hoping Pete will give me what I want. And possibly, more. As I got to their floor, I stared at the six doors, wondering which of them was Corey's. Since I already know Blake's door is the third one, I can guess it'll be the first two.... I'd find that out later. I walked down to the last unit, placing three sharp knocks on the door. I heard shuffling from the other side
TOM Immediately I came home was when I felt it in me that something was wrong. Opening the door to Blake's room proved it right. I should've calculated that Blake would leave while I was away and according to my dad, Blake left with Pete hours ago. And right now, I did what anyone in love would do. I was on my way, 10:45pm to see Blake. The pack grounds were quiet now, save for the ones who just relaxed at the front of their houses. As I walked there, I was already preparing what I would say but none sounded like what Blake would want to hear. Forget that, I'll be lucky if I even get to see him. I'm very sure he wouldn't want to but I needed to see him. I wanted to be sure where he stayed was safe. And also who lived around. I got to the unit, and noticed the first three floors had the lights switched off which meant nobody lived there. The last three had their lights on, and according to the address of Pete, the last floor was where I was going to. As I made my way upstairs, I jus
BLAKE"You okay?" Pete said beside me as we walked down the hallway. I only nodded, sniffing a little. After the talk with Alpha Jackson, I had taken some time to calm down so that Pete wouldn't hear or see me cry. And Pete waited patiently outside the room until I came outside. As we walked down the stairs, I expected to see Saint but didn't. No one was in the sitting room. It felt as though it was an unwanted farewell. Which it was.We quietly walked through until we got outside. I stood at the walkway, glancing back at the house where I had spent more than half of my life, before I breathed out one last time, as if letting out my attachment, and then walking away. The sun had begun to set, casting a golden glow on our path. The route we're taking is different from the one I normally take to school, and I knew how terrifying that would be. That's why the grip on my bag was tight as pack members glanced at me, some whispering about what I didn't want to know about. I just kept my hea
BLAKEIt was finally time to leave. I zipped my bags and looked around the empty room. It's a place I've come to love and hate. I love how I can just be cooped up here, away from the world, in my thoughts and emotions, just dealing with them silently. But I hate how it's filled with nightmares and the stench of sadness in the air. I didn't like the memory of Tom being in here alone with me, talking, making me forget—in that moment—that pain and trauma doesn't exist in my world. I didn't like it.I shook my head, pushing away the thoughts as I picked up both my bags. Before Pete left yesterday, we had written a letter to Saint, telling him of the name of the apartment, the floor and the room I wanted. I gave it to him last night, without a word. Although he had looked like he expected me to say something, the same way I did the other day, I didn't. I just gave him the paper and when he opened his mouth to say something to me, I walked away. I wasn't going to force myself to talk just
