Nadia's POV

My familiar ringtone woke me up from my slumber. I sat up, resting on the headboard to see who it was. A gentle smile curled on my lips as I picked it.

"Look who decided to give me a call." I said.

"Maybe I decided to let you know that I am at your door and your guards need you to confirm my identity before letting me in. Luna Nadia, could you kindly tell your guards to let me in?" Penelope mimicked causing me to throw back my head in laughter.

"What?" I hopped off the bed in joy. Swinging my pink shawl around my neck, I dashed to the living area.

I missed her so much. Her words had a spectacular way of rolling off my burden and after months of her absence, I could not wait to wrap my hands around her.

Pulling the door open, I stepped outside, "hey Nick, please open the gate."

The gate opened revealing Penelope. I threw all caution to the wind and ran into her arms.

"I missed you." I confessed to her.

"I missed you too and I'm sorry I missed your wedding." She giggled running her eyes over the house.

"You shouldn't be sorry you missed a wedding you weren't invited to." A low giggle escaped my throat as I linked my hand with hers and we walked inside.

I had explained everything to her thereafter. Pen had been writing exams and so she couldn't be there in time for the wedding as opposed to the plans we made when our prince charmings came for us. Life certainly had a way of pulling up surprises on us.

"My God." She exclaimed when she scanned the hallway walls decorated with beautiful art works.

"I know right. Will doesn't do ordinary." I beamed with pride leading her into the living area so she could sit.

"Welcome to my humble abode." I grinned at her.

"Well if you must know Nadia, there is nothing humble about this gigantic home. It ia beautiful." She mouthed the final compliment.

"Thank you. Now what would you like to have? We have-"

"Could I have some water please?"

I nodded and strode into the kitchen to get her some fruit juice since I had let Rosa off after a long day.

"Is everything okay, Penelope?" I asked her when I strode back into the parlor with the tray in my hands.

Pen was no longer standing, she sat on one of the chairs looking lost. I felt the atmosphere change.

"Yes, of course! Why?" A small smile slowly creeped onto her face morphing into a weary look. She picked up her drink and downed it at once.

But then I knew Pen. I had known her for ten years now since she stopped some girls from bullying me in highschool. Since then we had become so close.

"Are you really sure? Is something going on with you? Is there something you'd like to tell me?" I pressed her for answers.

"You worry too much Nadia. You'd be the first person to know if something was up with me." She reassured me as she stood up to her feet.

"Are you leaving already?" I stood up to my feet. The house was almost empty except for the help and the guards who were always around.

Will had traveled the day before and would be back in two days. Even if he hadn't, we had enough rooms to house hundreds of guests but we hadn't gotten to that and Pen-

"Yes." She muffled a yawn that indicated that she was tired as her words affirmed my question which further made me feel strange.

"I just came in to say hello to the newest Luna of Barkley Cove. I didn't want you to hear about my sudden arrival from someone else." She pointed out.

Which was true but it felt like it wasn't the full truth. I smiled at her. It had been six months since we last saw each other. Although I had expected that we'd spend chat deep into the night,it could always wait.

"It's almost late, let's get you back home." I took her hand into mine as we strode towards the door.

As we strode towards the gate hand in hand, my mind thought about a million reasons as to why I doubted that everything was okay with Pen. There were ways to find out if everything was really okay with my best friend but it would take time. Maybe when she was ready, she would let me in on it.

"Ma'am should I-"

My eyes connected with Nick and he got the meaning immediately. Will had assigned two guards to follow me around on the day he traveled. I didn't want Penelope feeling strange around them.

I was still trying to adapt to my new status. She on the other hand was still new to all this. I walked her down to the busstop where she'd take a cab home.

Just as we got there, a cab halted. Pen disengaged from me after hugging me. Then she strode into the cab.

"Bye Pen." I blew her a kiss before turning back onto the streets that led home.

Suddenly, I could feel eyes on me. The hairs on my neck stood at alert. I swirled around to see who it was but no one was there.

As I strode away into the house, a deep unsettled feeling settled in the lowerpit of my stomach making me to wonder if I had been hallucinating, if indeed someone had been watching me or if all these was in a way related to Nina's promise to tear I and Will apart.

  • The Substitute Bride: Banished with the Alpha's babies   A deserved happy ending

NADIA'S POV.I walked back to the restaurant, smiling and greeting anyone who made eye contact with me. My joy was over the top. I couldn't help but express my happiness. It was a burning cauldron inside of him. When I got back to the restaurant, Titan and Anna were still talking, and laughing. It felt like they'd known each other for some time.I walked into the restaurant, and made my way towards them."Jeez, Alpha Titan was just telling me a funny joke. If you hear it, you'll burst into laughter." Anna said, vibrating with laughter."Okay… what's it?" I asked."Now, listen well. A duck, and a frog…" he began, and I paid attention, but by the time he was done, I burst into a shrill laughter I had fueled myself instead of Titan's joke.Anna had definitely fallen for Tit

  • The Substitute Bride: Banished with the Alpha's babies   Happiness

NADIA'S POV.The next day, I went to Anna's room, and saw her scrolling through her phone, while she lay on the bed, with her back turned upwards."Hey." I called, with a smile, closing her door, and going to join her on the bed."Hey hey." She replied cheerfully, turning over, so her back was on the bed."What are you so engrossed in?" I asked, snatching her phone, and saw she was staring at the photo of a handsome young man."Woah. He's cool." I said, and she chuckled."Are married women allowed to say that?" She asked, and I laughed."What's wrong with appreciating beauty? You were doing the same thing, too." I shot back, passing her phone back to her, and she grinned."You know… there's actually someone who's as handsome as this. Maybe more." She said, biting the nail on her thumb.

  • The Substitute Bride: Banished with the Alpha's babies   Peace

NADIA’S POVThat night, I felt so good and relieved while I was on the bed with Will. To think that in the last few hours, I felt so depressed, and heartbroken. I didn’t know how I could live with the fact that Nina was going to die, and I wouldn’t see or hear of her anymore. No, it was best for her to be given the chance to atone for her sins, at least. And as her family member, I was the only one who could plead for her or make her freedom from death, happen. Will walked out of the bathroom, and cleaned his hair with his towel.“I hope you’re now satisfied, Nadia?” He asked, with a charming smile.I loved the atmosphere around. It was a light, and happy one. At least, our enemy was gone now, and we had given her a judgement that wouldn’t burden anyone. The only thing I hoped for was that she would learn her lessons, and turn a new leaf.

  • The Substitute Bride: Banished with the Alpha's babies   Brooding

NADIA’S POV“Nadia, you need to stop brooding about this. It’s been two days now, and you aren’t eating as you ought to. All because of your half-sister who wouldn’t bat an eye if you were the one in that shoe?” Anna complained as she sat before me in the living room. She was right. Nina wouldn’t bat an eye if I were the one whose punishment was death. In fact, she would be happy that I was going to be killed, and therefore be out of this world, and her way of getting who she wanted, which was Will. But then, I wasn’t her. This is me, and I can’t bring myself to accept Will’s judgement. In fact, it was seeming more like Will had done something to ensure my calls wouldn’t get to him. Even Tristan wasn’t answering my calls, and it was certain it was on Will’s order, so I can’t blame him.I couldn’t even get angry

  • The Substitute Bride: Banished with the Alpha's babies   Final

ALPHA WILL’S POVAs soon as we got to Los Angeles, I checked my wristwatch, and noticed I still had time, and I could even get to the hotel before the client I’m meant to see, arrives.I wasn’t meant to come out for anything regarding business because I had a lot going on which I had to settle, but this was really important. It was about a contract which we had once signed, but there was something that needed to be changed in some of the terms and conditions, and my presence and signature was needed before it could be processed.Well, it was also a good distraction to take my mind off the fact that I had ordered the guards to behead Nina. That was the most suitable punishment for her. In fact, if there was any other punishment worse than death, I would give it to her.She had made me feel a bit less of an Alpha because of the way she managed to play me, and made

  • The Substitute Bride: Banished with the Alpha's babies   A yearning hope

NADIA’S POVIt had been two days since Will stayed in his study, thinking of the perfect punishment to give Nina. Although, he allowed me in whenever I wanted to check up on him, but he didn’t come to sleep in the room. He ate, drank and did everything in his study. He had said that it was until he thought of the perfect punishment that he would find himself worthy to sleep by my side, and do things with me. Although, I understood how bad he still felt when he found out that I was framed, and then he turned his back against me when the world did. It was more like he was beating himself up, and several times, I had told him I had forgiven him, and it was fine.Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to be with me.“Will, it’s time you stop beating yourself up on this. Her being in the dungeon is enough punishment for the atrocities she has caused.” I said to him as I looked
