3RD POV:

“Of course you can,” he smiled, handing Amelia a whisk. “We can make a mess together.”

His heart was just so full, seeing them even talking to him again after he questioned if he was visible today.

The next ten minutes were filled with laughter, clattering bowls, and a whole lot of spilled batter. Even Hannah found herself smiling as Elijah pretended to faint dramatically when Amelia accidentally flung flour at him.

“Mom, he’s so funny when he’s not trying too hard.” she whispered wit

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   My Turn to Hurt You

MARY'S POV:Vesper gently reached up her small hand and stroked his ear, her manicured fingers running smoothly through his short hair, her sweet voice sounding soft and soothing against his ear. "My sweet baby, please do not get so upset over her. I already know how good of a man you are. I know deep down that you are only trying your best to help her out of a bad spot."I just stood there staring at the two of them without showing a single drop of emotion on my face.My face felt like a stiff mask, carefully constructed to hide every single thing I was truly feeling inside my heart. The deep rage, the sharp physical pain, the burning humiliation, every bit of it was locked away safely behind a massive wall of frozen ice. I had learned through years of living in this lonely mansion how to hide my true feelings from the world. I had learned how to force a polite smile when I desperately wanted to scream at the top of my lungs, and how to stay completely silent when every fiber of m

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   I Choose Freedom

MARY'S POV:I had heard more than enough of his garbage to last me a lifetime. I had heard far more than any human being should ever have to endure. Alistair was either completely, foolishly blind in love with Vesper, or he was simply deeply in love with his own selfish image. The easy way he looked down at her face, the furious way he rushed to defend her honor, and the smooth way he twisted every bad situation to turn himself into the innocent victim, it was utterly exhausting to watch. It was infuriating to my soul. It was deeply, painfully heartbreaking.I turned my back away from both of them completely.I walked over to the marble sink, my trembling hands gripping the cold edge of the basin for support. I turned on the tap and splashed the freezing water directly onto my warm face, the cold shock sharp and deeply bracing against my burning skin. I carefully washed away the messy remnants of my physical sickness, the hot tears, and the heavy humiliation clinging to my face. I

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   I Am Done

MARY'S POV:I slowly lifted my head up from the cold porcelain rim.The wide mirror was hanging right in front of my face, clearly reflecting the room standing behind my back. And staring straight back at me in the glass reflection was Vesper's cruel, smiling face. She was standing right behind my weak body, her right hand still pressed firmly against my lower back, her sharp, neat fingernails digging hard into my skin through the thin fabric of my top. Her facial expression was pure smugness, icy cold, and completely triumphant. Her red lips were curved upward into a wide smile that did not reach her dark, calculated eyes at all. She looked exactly like a satisfied street cat that had successfully trapped a tiny mouse in a corner, taking her time to savor the delicious moment right before making the final kill. She suddenly released her firm hold on my shirt, stepping backward as if I were some filthy thing she could not bear to touch with her clean fingers. She slowly pulled a

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   The Snake at My Back

MARY'S POV:I had been threatened with cold physical violence by his security team before. I had been threatened with police cells, with complete isolation, and with the permanent loss of every single thing I held dear in this world. But this current situation, this terrible moment right here, was completely different.Right now, I was actively being threatened and suffocated using the fake idea of love. And that fake, suffocating love was infinitely more terrifying than any physical threat he could ever throw at me.Slowly, as the heavy seconds ticked by, my mind began to go completely numb, and I could no longer make out what anyone in the room was saying. All the loud voices around me faded into a dull, low roar, sounding distant, muffled, and entirely senseless. I could barely even hear the sound of my own shallow breathing anymore. The high ceilings of the living room felt like they were spinning around in circles, the white walls closing in on my shoulders, and the cold air

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   The Emotional Trap

MARY'S POV: It felt as though the solid floor beneath my feet was slowly dissolving away into nothing, making every single breath of air heavier, colder, and far more painful to pull into my lungs. The high walls of the room seemed to close in around my body, the surrounding air growing thick, heavy, and completely suffocating. I could feel the terrible weight of her tearful gaze pressing against my heart, along with the unsaid question hanging quietly in her eyes. I could feel the suffocating pressure of her silent hope, her desperate, heartbroken need for this terrible mess to somehow work out smoothly, so that her family could remain whole. Did Beatrice genuinely want me to give up my freedom and agree to this terrible contract too? The heartbreaking thought pierced straight through my chest like a sharp iron blade. This was the exact same woman who had been far more of a real mother to me over the years than my own late biological mother had ever bothered to be. The type wom

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   The Manipulation

MARY'S POV:Alistair's face remained ghostly pale, his strong jaw clamped shut tight. He looked exactly like a cornered man who had completely run out of good options to protect his public image. However, the cold calculation never once left his eyes. He was always thinking ahead, always planning his next move, and constantly finding a way to twist every bad situation to his own advantage. Even now, with his own mother standing face-to-face with him in total confrontation, his mind was actively searching for a new angle to exploit."Mom, I know you are extremely angry with me right now," he spoke up, his voice dropping into a smooth, entirely reasonable tone. "But you have to remember that there is an innocent unborn child involved in this situation who will be severely hurt by the public scandal. I am simply trying my best to find the only logical solution to protect everyone involved. All I am asking is for Mary to step forward and acknowledge the open marriage agreement publicly.
