For an hour or so, things moved in the right fashion.
Hunting isn't difficult for me. I only had to use my arrow, once, and it hits the mark. However, the animals I caught were small ones.I needed to catch the bigger ones, so I could flaunt them in front of my stupid brothers, whose faces would have nothing but jealousy on them.“Come on, boy,” I pet Starlight. "Let's go deeper. The predators have gone into hiding. I think we need to seek them out.”Starlight neighed, and off we went. He was faster, and eager, just like I am.*****The deeper we went into the forest, the darker it became, until I was unable to see anything in front of me.“What's going on?” I turned around. Sure enough, in the distance, the sky was bright. However, around here, it was total darkness.“Let's get out of here, Starlight,” I tried to steer the horse towards the place the light was coming from. But he neighed, rose high in the air, and threw me down from his back.I can hear his hooves as he galloped out of the forest.“Starlight!” I called out to him, but I heard no sound from him.The entire place was quiet. There was no other sound aside from that of my heavy breathing.“Starlight!” I called out to him as I blindly touched the ground.I stood up from the ground and blindly dusted my butt.“Starlight!” I called out once more, but there was no sound. My feet hit something, and when I felt the ground, I discovered it was my bow.“Thank the gods,” I clutched to it as I made my way towards the light I saw in the distance. The more I walked towards the light, the farther it became until I was fully engulfed in the dark“What's going on?” I turned around, yet, I wasn't able to make out anything. I couldn't even see my hands.Blindly, I walked, with my hands and the bows outstretched, to prevent myself from hitting my head on a tree, mistakenly.Everything that's happening, seemed strange. I've been to this forest before, but never have I encountered such a strange thing as this.I have never been in this kind of predicament before. Even on the nights I spent alone here, it had never been this dark.
I kept on walking until I saw a light in the distance. It was like a breath of fresh air.I hastily walked towards the light. Blindly, I escaped hitting my head on a tree right in front of me.It was a tricky thing to do, but at last, I managed to leave the forest without hitting my head on a tree.“Thank the Gods,” I sighed heavily as I approached the light that got brighter the nearer I got.Close to it, I discovered the light was coming from a house. And the closer I got, the more I discovered it was a castle. The light I saw was coming from three of the windows of the Palace.“What's a castle doing in the forest?” I wondered aloud as I approached the great gates of the palace. It was dark out here, so I had to touch the iron gates before I was able to find the entrance of the gate.It wasn't locked like I thought it was, so I was able I slip in.“Hello?” I called out but got no reply. The place was silent. There was no one in the dark courtyard.“Hello?” I called out once more as I walked closer to the building. There was no one around. The large compound only had the Palace looming up ahead, with no sign of people around.“Hello?”I called out once more as I glanced around. The entire place was so silent, it caused me to shiver. However, as the fearless princess, I was, The silence did not deter me.Who knows, the occupants of the palace have gone to sleep. Or they are probably in that room with the lights on.“Hello?” I called out as I walked to the door, half hoping the Butler would come and open the door at the sound of my voice.Yet, as I continued further, I saw no one around, and neither did I hear a sound.Aside from the sounds of my footsteps, there were no other sounds to be heard. It was as if I was the only one around here.Who am I kidding?I'm the only one around here. There were no guards in sight. Not even the busy sounds of maids walking around can be heard. The entire place was as silent as a graveyard.Yikes.Why am I thinking of a grave in this situation?I looked around the place before I hastened towards the door. The crunching of leaves under my feet, made me frown. However, I didn't allow myself to dwell further in the thoughts of why there were leaves in a supposed Palace.I reached the doors and knocked on the door.“Hello?” I moved to the side to prevent being banged on the face with the door should someone open it from inside. “Hello?” I knocked on the door once more. This time, I made sure to knock so loudly for them to hear me out.“Anyone here?” I called out when I didn't hear any response.I knocked on the door once more before I mistakenly pushed on the door. The heavy oak door opened with a noisy sound. It sounded as if the door hadn't been opened for ages.“Hello?” I called out, even with the opened door. The inside was as silent as the outside. However, unlike the outside, there was a dim light coming from somewhere upstairs.“Who's here? Hello? I lost my way while hunting in the forest, can I spend the night here? It's okay if you don't want me to. I'm just a lost princess searching for a place to keep her head until the morning.” I continued to look around as I said those words, hoping to get a reply.I stood there for a long time and watched, but no one came out. The entire place was still silent. Except for the dull light coming from somewhere by the right, there was no sound.“Hello?” I called out once more. And when I didn't get a reply, I decided to enter. It's not a crime to enter into a house where there are no occupants to stop me from doing that.Who knows? They may have all gone to sleep.I entered the house and closed the door behind me. The door made a protesting sound as it closed.“Now, it's time to check out the rooms," I murmured as I walked out of the foyer, only to discover the light was coming from the stairs. “Could it be coming from the room I saw the light in?” I wondered aloud, hastening towards the light.I didn't waste any time checking my environment because of how dark the house was.All I wanted was to go up there and see what the source of the light was. Who knows, the king or owner of this strange palace in the forest might be up there reading a b
I shakily glanced around the place. My heart was beating miles a minute, and it felt like the organ was about to leap out of my chest. The window opened once more, and banged, just at the same time the thunder rumbled.“Fucking hell!” I screamed at the top of my lungs as I tightly closed my eyes and placed both hands on my ears. The wind picked up, and it seemed like the lightning and thunder were having a contest on who knew how to rumble faster. The golden engravings on the coffin seemed to shine brighter.“What's going on?”I tried to rise from the floor, but I found out I was unable to move. I couldn't even lift a leg.“No, this isn't happening," I I tried once more; however, my attention was called to the black box when I heard an unusual sound.Boom.It was like the sound of the hunting gun my brother bought three days ago. I shrieked some more as the flapping of the window, and the rumbling of thunder accompanied the strange sound that came from the box.The light flickered
“Don't come any closer?” He tilted his head to the side as if he wanted to make sense of the word I spoke.“A human,” he tsked. “What a pathetic creature,” he scoffed, walking closer to me.“Don't come any closer!” I frantically glanced around the place as I tried to seek a way of escape. However, I found none.I was rooted to the floor, with my butt glued to it. “You are just an unfortunate poor thing," he smirked, taking a step towards me. As he closed the distance between us, the smoke left his body. “Fuck!”My eyes widened as I fully saw his body. The creature was naked! Like full-butt naked!“Why? You look like you haven't seen a man naked, before.” He walked until he came to where I was sitting, glued to the floor.“Don't touch me!” I tried to fight him as he latched his hand to my jaw, but he tightly held me, making it seem effortless.“Pathetic, but healthy," he said before he brought his face closer to mine.“What are you doing? Don't touch me!” I tried to fight him, but it
I kept on pulling on the ropes binding me to the bed. It was hopeless, I know. However, I wasn't about to give up. “Who's out there? Help me!” I called out, yanking on the rope.I don't know how long I called out or how long I tugged on the rope before the door opened.“Let me go!” I yelled out immediately the door opened. I was expecting to see the creature who tied me to the bed. But instead, I saw a human — a woman. She had her head bowed as she came in.“Help me, please!” I frantically begged her.“I'm here to help you with your bath, my lady," she bowed before she started approaching the bed I was lying on.“Were you also caught? Please, release me. I will get us out of here. All you need to do is get my bow for me.” I pleaded, hoping she would at least look at me. “I'm afraid, I can't be of help to you, miss. I'm only here to help you have your bath as the master requested.” She bowed once more before she proceeded to untie my legs from the bedpost.“Master? Are you serving tha
I slowly opened my eyes. “Good to see you awake." The same woman I pushed in my bid to escape from this cursed place, said when I opened my eyes.“What am I doing here?” I sat up on the same bed.Like the last time I woke up, I was naked. The only accessories I was putting on, were the chains on my legs. “Are you asking me that?” She scoffed. “Where is he? I—”“Are you thinking of escaping from here?” She narrowed her eyes to slits, “it seems you haven't learned your lessons.” I frowned at her words, “why don't you want to leave? You are not chained to the bed. You can escape on your own if you so wish for it. Why are you still here?" She stared at me for a moment before she started to unlock the chains I was bound with. “You need to have your bath. Master said you stink.” “Why don't we escape —”“It seems you haven't learned your lessons. The master is only being lenient with you. He will do worse than he did today.” Immediately she released my legs from the chains that were h
She locked my legs the moment I finished eating. She had me focus on her, not knowing she intended to lock me back.“What are you doing!” I tried to fight against her hold but found out I couldn't. My body felt weaker than it was before I ate the food.“What did you do to me?” I fell on the bed. “Sleep, you will need it.” She carried the tray from the bed, and smiled, “The master will be back soon.” “What—”I tried to fight the hold of whatever it was she put in my food, but found out I wasn't able to.My eyes closed by themselves, and before long, I was soundly sleeping.**********I woke up to an unfamiliar sound. I slowly opened my eyes. “Who's there?” I tried to rise from the bed, but couldn't. My body feels extremely heavy. “You are finally awake.” The creature walked towards me. He was now putting on an all-black. “What are you doing here? Let me go!” I managed to sit up on the bed.“You want to leave? There is only one way out of here.” He held my jaw in his hand and forc
Pathetic. He said before his teeth sank into my neck. This time, I didn't fight it. All I did was fight the pain that threatened to take over. He suddenly stopped. “Pathetic.” He said the word I've got used to associating him with before he threw me to the floor.“If I'm pathetic, you will let me go.” I narrow my eyes at him, “when father learns of this, he will surely come for me. And when he does, you will be crushed to dust.” I sat on the floor with my eyes narrowed squarely at him. He laughed at my words, “you are nothing but a pathetic human.” He took a squat in front of me.I tried to get away from him as far as I can, but it was impossible. The chains on my legs kept dragging me back.He latched his hand to my throat. “Your father is just a pathetic human. He's nothing but dust under my feet.” He smirked, showing his fangs.“Let me go, you beast!” I spat on his face. His eyes changed colours immediately. The red orbs became so blood-red, it felt like blood was dripping down
The creature showed up in later that day. “You ate your meal.” He said as he gave the empty plates a glimpse.I didn't respond to him. All I did was watch him as I sought to associate the man standing in front of me to the one that broke down last night.Seeing how damaged he looked then, made me want to do nothing else but console him.He stood in front of me for a long time. It was as if he were waiting for me to start my round of insults like I normally do. However, I did nothing of that sort. I sat on the floor and watched him. He came to my side, and sat on the bed, still looking at me.“What do you want?” I snapped when I deduced that was what he was looking for.Unlike before, the sharp words held no fire in them. He furrowed his brows as he watched me. It was as if he were trying to figure something out. “Why aren't you struggling?” He finally asked.Up close, I was able to notice how handsome he was.Aside from his teeth that elongate unexpectedly, he's handsome. Much mo
