Chapter 5 FIRST DAY

~ RUBY INGRID ~

I just wore a simple high waisted jeans and a baby blue button down dress shirt, tucked in at one side. I paired it with my slingback sandals and rapidly run my way to the company. I almost forgot that I’m still broke and can’t afford riding a freaking taxi.

I arrived at the company but I took my way to the comfort room first. I checked myself and this is one of those times that I appreciate my natural look. I don’t wear make up and a lipstick is the only source of my beauty. I winked at myself in the mirror and continue walking to the right side of the elevator.

And they’re at it again with the whispers and gossips. Seriously, what’s wrong with riding this thing? It’s not like it’s made of gold and a broke person like me can’t ride it. I didn’t heed them any attention and waited for the elevator door to open.

“Uhm, excuse me, miss.“ I averted my eyes to one of the personnel, it was a manager from the HR department, according to her name tag.

“Yes?“ I offer her a pretty smile and was about to invite her to ride the elevator but she already cut me even before I could talk.

“Miss, you’re not allowed to ride that elevator... You’re not a important person, ma’am, so we need to ask you to ride the other elevator, please.“

My brows literally rose after hearing those. Me? Not an important person? Hah! My parents always told me that I’m a very important person. And I’ll always be important for myself.

I flipped my hair and turn my back at her, not wanting to make a commotion since my blood is boiling from annoyance.

“Miss, you really need to—“ She grabbed my arm and pulled me forcefully but I promptly pulled it back, stopping her from her words. “Olay then, I’ll the security to have you out of the building and I’ll make sure to fire you—“

“She’s my secretary.“

Both of us stilled, I can already feel a heavy and cold presence behind me. I can see everyone’s eyes on my back and even before I could face him, his fingers landed on my covered back and it almost sent me to wobble.

“And you’re late, Miss Ingrid.“ He pulled my wrist gently and pull me to stand beside him. I still can’t look at her in the eyes especially when I’m seeing fear and shock visible at the other people’s eyes while staring at him. “And you...“ He then face the manager I was having a fight. “You’re fired.“

My mouth hangs widely open and I couldn’t think of another words to say. Exactly when the door of the elevator open, he pulled me in and left everyone in shock, including me.

He was the one who pressed the button to his floor. It was an awkward silence and I was contemplating if I should tell a joke to make the atmosphere lighten but I can’t manage to open my mouth. He looks so serious and scary so I choose life rather than messing up with him.

“Why are you late, Miss Ingrid?“

I tapped my sandal at the metal floor, my eyes are following the blinking lights of the numbers everytime we reached the other floors.

“Miss Ingrid, I’m talking to you.“

I just want to this to go up and both of us will leave to have our own work. That’s right, but I don’t even know what work he’ll give me. Though I hope it wouldn’t be as bad and tough like how I watched in the televisions. Maybe I should remind him that I didn’t graduate college and can only do statistics and basic mathematics—

“W-What?“ I gaze at him in surprise when he pushed me at the side, causing my back to hit the corner. He blocked me with his arms and his face is now inches away from mine. “Sir?“ I’m trying to get off from his gape but the way he looked at me is so intense.

“I’ve been calling you multiple times, Miss Ingrid. You must know that I don’t like being ignored.“ His hot breath made it’s way to my cheeks and even it’s minty smell shouts perfection.

“Ahh, yes, sure.“ I let out an awkward laugh and lightly tapped his shoulder. “Hehe, g-good luck to your work.“ I added to make him feel good but his eyes became a shade darker so I stopped.

Gosh, how can this man still look good even with crumpled face. He’s sorounded with black aura while I’m all white and green.

At least. The sound coming from the opening door of the elevator finally came to my ear and he casually slipped out without hesitation, leaving me inside like a little wet pussy hiding at the very corner.

“Tsk! Why did it feel so wrong combining wet and pussy?“ I asked myself but ended up shaking the thoughts when I heard him called my name. “Yes, sir?“

He took a pile of papers from his desk’s drawer and wrote something on a piece of paper. I was just standing in front waiting for him to say something. “Work there.“ He pointed at the living area inside his office and gave me the papers and the laptop. “Go.“ He didn’t even bother looking at me.

Hmp! I took all of those and sat on the carpeted floor. I scattered the papers and read what was written on the small paper and surprised at what he wanted me to do. “Proofread and encode? To be passed after the day end? The heck!?“ I said in the lowest voice I could do but also jolted when he slammed his desk, creating a loud thud.

“No cussing inside of my office, Miss Ingrid.“ I only nodded my head and starts reading each papers on by one. “That’s why you should always come to work earlier, Ruby. You can’t go home until all of it are finished.“ My head abruptly spin to his side so he automatically raised his brow. “Do you have any problems with that?“

“But sir, I need to go home before twelve.“ I acted cute so he won’t be able to resist my charm but he only answered me an eyes roll before going back to his work.

My lips gape open, not believing that he just roll an eye at me. “Gay.“ I murmured and didn’t mean to say it louder but he already heard it.

“What?“ His forehead furrowed and his brows almost had a meeting. “Did you just call me gay?“ He stood up from his seat so I stand up from the floor either. I just had a hunch that I need to run away from him.

“I didn’t.“ I defended even though he clearly heard it already. “What are you doing?“ My eyes widened when he pulled me by my wrist and pushed me towards the long and soft couch.

I was laying on my back when he quickly hover on top of me, pinning my hands on my sides and leaning forward until the tips of our noses played with each other.

A playful smirk immediately appeared on his lips and his tongue run through it, making him look more gorgeous. “Do you mind proving to me if I’m a real gay?“

No need, his manly voice and masculine body was enough reason to know how hot he was. His eyes are pulling me and I can’t help but to bit my lower lip. He was making me feel those butterflies again, for the second time. I saw how his eyes followed my lips before his eyes became serious.

“Do I look like a gay to you, Miss Ingrid?“

I shook my head quickly and unable to retrieve my eyes from him. “I didn’t mean to say it.“ I felt his hands clasps both of my hands, intertwining them to hold it using his one hand.

“But you already said it. Do you mind proving to me how I was a gay to you?“ I can’t think of other way how to prove it, damn it! How can I freaking do it without being so pervert!?

Okay! I want to kiss him. His luscious lips are jut too... yummy.

“Do what you want—“

I didn’t give him any more time to continue what he wants to say, I crashed my lips on his and kiss him timidly and tenderly. I was praying and hoping for him to answer it or just kiss me back but I was disappointed when he basically pushed me away from him.

I couldn’t open my eyes for too much embarrassment. I should’ve known it was an awful move but I still did it. And I’m blaming her lips for that.

“Sorry...“ I didn’t hear him say anything but I felt him move from hovering on my top.

“Go back to your work.“ He cleared his throat and his footsteps echoed through the whole room filled with silence.

“Sorry.“
