Elaine sighed. She knew she had to give him answers. She would, Wild deserved to know the truth. "Finish your dinner, and I'll tell you the truth behind why I was at the W Series Compound." She said slowly. Wild stared at her with his dull yellow eyes. Debating on if she was giving it to him straight. After a few moments, he turned away, helping Tiffany nibble away at her own pizza slices. Westley was down a slice and halfway through the other with the napkin covering his nose. "I am not actually a therapist, if you couldn't tell. That was just my cover." Elaine started slowly. "So what, you're like a spy or something?" Westley asked. "Or something. I am an agent. My real name is Elaine Moore." Wild thumped his tail against the chair bars. "You couldn't tell us because we would tell the others. You chose us because we wanted out." He deduced quietly. "Yes, exactly." She smiled at Wild. He didn't return it. "I wanna go home, lady. Can I go home?" Westley pleaded. "Soon, but not yet. There's a lot that still needs to be done."

When it was clear that Tiffany wasn't going to be eating much more, Elaine led the three to their sleeping quarters. It was a conference room, but with the successful infiltration of the W Series Compound, her request to have it converted was approved. It wasn't much. The tables and chairs were removed, replaced by three cots with small mattresses to make them more comfortable. This was only temporary, after all. The counter and cupboards were still there for holding personal belongings, not that they were given a chance to get any of those, and the mini fridge was stocked with water for them if they got thirsty in the night. There was even a television mounted on the wall for them to watch whatever was on. "This is where you will be sleeping until we can get you home. I will be down the hall if you need me." She watched Wild tuck Tiffany in, the girl wincing a bit. He'd said she was in pain. Must've gone through one last experiment before she could get them out. Elaine felt bad for putting her through that. At least they were free now...

Elaine went back to her office. Give them space to settle and let things sink in. She had to file her report on the mission now. Westley and Tiffany's parents would be contacted. In a few days, hopefully, they would be home. She would get them to make statements on what happened. The W Series would be taken down... if they haven't relocated by then. Either way, she was getting all the children out of there. She hoped that maybe they had seen or heard something that would be useful to help out Elaine and those remaining children.

Her work wasn't over yet.

"Are they here yet? Are they here yet?!" Elaine chuckled at Richard's childish excitment. "You sound like a kid going to Disney World." Richard made a pouty face, only solidifying her point. "I wanna meet my boy, Wild!" Elaine smirked. "First time you saw his picture, you called him ugly." Richard opened his mouth to retort but found that he couldn't. "He's still my boy. Don't have to be as good looking as me to be."

"You? Good looking?" Elaine retorted. "Wild has more chance of picking up a date than you." He hissed, putting a hand to his heart. "Ouch, Elaine, I thought we were friends..?"

"We are. Friends save friends from getting inflated egos." She mused, typing away at her computer. "Aww, you do care!" Elaine rolled her eyes. "Holy shit..."

Elaine turned to see Wild, about to knock on the doorway. His ears folded back as his paws shuffled selfconsiously. His tail was low, almost tucked as he looked between a frozen Richard and Elaine. "Can I help you with something?" Wild's eyes slowly dragged to her. "Do you have meds to help Tiffany..?"

"Honestly, I'm not sure how well ibprofen or tylanol will work, but that's all I have." Elaine responded sorrowfully. "Anything will do." She went to her purse to get a couple of tablets. "Wow, you're really him! Hi Wild, I'm Richard, I named you!" He reached for Wild's hand stepped back, unnerved. "He's not used to people, Rich, especially high-energy ones like you." Elaine held out the pills for Wild. He inched back in to take the medication before prompty whipping around to retreat to his room. "Holy shit... he has a tail... a full tail and paws and... who the fuck would do that to anyone?" Elaine sighed softly. "The world is a cruel place..."

Elaine finished her report and faxed it in before going to check on her charges. Tiffany was asleep in the furthest cot while Westley was settled in the middle, watching Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Wild was in the back leaned against the wall. She wouldn't be surprised if he was listening in, trying to figure things out for himself. "How are you guys doing?" She looked at the boys. Westley's response was to be expected from a ditracted twelve-year-old. "Good..." Wild's ear flicked, telling her that Wild had heard her, though he didn't respond right away. "Wild..?" He turned to her this time, his eyes seemed to glow in the dark of the room. She wondered if it made them feel better, always being in the dark. There rooms were often dark too. "... Scared, nervous, confused..." He replied after a moment. "Out of place."

"I understand after how long you've been trapped... I was thinking maybe tomorrow I could take you all outside." Elaine offered, knowing how much all of them wanted to be out there, free... Westley's attention had been caught. "Outside?!" Wild nodded. "Tomorrow." Elaine smiled.

They had something to look forward to tomorrow.

Elaine felt Jon wrap his arms around her as they showered together. "You don't seem so tense, Mrs. Moore. Have a breakthrough at work?" She leaned into her husbands chest. "Yes." He kissed her neck softly. "I'm glad... I'm assuming you still can't talk about it?" Elaine tilted her head to give him more access. "Not yet..." He trailed kisses up and down her neck, rubbing his hand over her stomach. "Wanna know what dear old Detective Moore has been up to?" She nodded as he continued to shower her with love. "Some people have been making chupacabras with vampire bat DNA, coyote DNA, and porcupine DNA and setting them lose to drain people and animals of their blood. Had to help animal control wrangle them up and found the people responsible." Elaine shivered despite the warm water running down her skin. "I'll never understand why people do what they do..." Jon shook his head. "Me either..." He spun her around slowly, his head lowering so his lips could meet hers in a heated kiss.

It had been a long time since the two had an intamate moment like this. Elaine's back pressed into the shower wall with her husband pressed against her. Jon was alway so gentle when handling her, like a porcalein doll. His lips moved quickly, sending an eletric feeling through her. His hands made her hot from all the places they touched. Always left her wanting more of him. Her breath hitched as her picked her up, pushing up against her. She hadn't even registered that he turned off the water as he moved their passions from the shower to the bed, locking her into a needy kiss the whole way. "I love you Jon..." She whispered to him. "I love you too, El..." Was his soft reply before he straddled her and pressed into her again.

It was a good way to end the day. Elaine loved those special moments. It made her think of expanding their family, but weither she nor Jon had the time for a child. They'd descussed it before a few times. Well, at least now she had two children and a young adult to take care of at work. Today she promised to bring the three hybirds outside. Granted they couldn't be seen outside the facility yet, But the back faced woods and it was private property. Once Westley and Tiffany were released to their parents, then things could be in the open, but for now she was going to let them savor a little bit more time away from the media and the press. It was all she really could do right now. She made some toast for breakfast and packed a lunch for herself and her charges. She would need to figure out a schedule to get them fed in the facility, the pizza had been a lucky find at best. She grabbed her keys and headed out for the days events.

Maybe she could gain Wild's trust again.

Wild was separated from the others to get x-rays done. It turned out he'd fractured one of the bones in his legs, but that was the worst of his damage. Jon had broken his arm and his nose. He also had a concussion that had put him in his comatose state, and he needed stitches. All three of them did, actually. Kat had the least amount of damage, only needing three stitches compared to Wild's fifteen and Jon's forty-two. They found Elaine's contact in Jon's phone, so she was now on her way Montana, where they had ended up crashing. The good news was that they were close to the Wyoming border. Wild was almost back to his home territory. It made him feel better. "Good afternoon, Wild." He sat up in his bed, regarding the doctor uneasily. White coats didn't exactly associate with good things, but this doctor only checked his fluids before listening to his heartbeat and breathing as well as taking his blood pressure. "Afternoon..." Wild watched him go about his business as usual and let him

"What do we do?" Kat questioned as they looked up. "... it might be a while before we are found... we need to survive." Wild staggered to his paws and peered up. "Starting with patching ourselves up with what we can use and finding or making a shelter. I sense rain in the air." Kat was immediately pushing Wild back onto the ground. "Rest! I can take care of building a shelter. You need to focus on your injuries." The puma hybrid dashed off after that, presumably to find material for a shelter or some sort. Wild glanced back up at the incline. Would Kat have done it if he asked her to climb up for help? She wasn't the most trusting of humans. Wild got to work, picking glass out of the cuts on his skin and using the hem of his shirt to dab away blood. A small part of him wanted to lick it, but he shoved that thought far back as he moved onto Jon. He had small cuts from glass, too, and bruises everywhere like Wild. The worst of it was the buising gash on his head from it bouncing off the

It was a little more than a month before Kat was discharged. The local police had gone after Michael Jonah for what he did, and he was now wanted in both Idaho and Wyoming. Only the P Series was located, the federal authorities of the state taking them while Kat was allowed to go to Wyoming to help free others like herself and Wild. Elaine knew it wouldn't be long before Michael Jonah was wanted in most, if not all, the US. If he was smart, he would turn himself in and give up the locations of all the Series. Wild and Kat knew better, though. He would probably leave the country and go to one of the Series out of the country where he wasn't wanted. That would become a problem for the UN, and it would be out of their hands. Things were finally picking up on the Series's case. Most of the neighboring states were looking for any sort of facilities that could house Series. Nothing had been found yet, but it wouldn't be long...This time, with Kat not dying, They had two hybrids staring out

Wild had never been in a house before. Taking to an airbnb as their temporary housing until Kat got better. Wild... didn't know how to describe the place other than "better." It was so strange to see a real kitchen and a living room and all the rooms told in stories, but now he was there. The couple that was housing them immediately felt bad for the animal boy, seeing how he was and how utterly confused and shocked he was to see it all. Even more so when he could make himself at home here. Home was a concept he'd never understood before. He'd never had it, but to relax on the living room couch and read was nice. He left the room mostly dark besides the lamp behind him as he enjoyed himself I the relative silence to let the adults talk and figure out sleeping arrangements with their hosts. A long-haired, silver weasel-cat hybrid watched him wearily from the dark, making growl like noises on occasion, but Wild couldn't be bothered. He was in the zone now. Nothing could pull him away fro

Elaine and Jon hadn't truly fathomed how much Wild had been stressed out until check out around eight. He was out the doors the moment he saw them and didn't turn around to look at the building once. Wild felt like he could breathe again, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly. He'd survived the night. That was good. He was ready to check on Kat again and see how her night had gone. "Wild!" He glanced at Elaine, ears down in an attempt to ignore all the noise around them. "Elaine?" "Are you ok? You seemed to be in a hurry to get out..." Elaine commented. Jon came out with the they few bags of luggage he and Elaine had brought. "I didn't like it in there. Reminded me of the Series..." Wild replied as he opened the car door and got on the back."Why didn't you say anything? If you were uncomfortable, we could've slept somewhere else." Jon was saying as they drove back to the hospital. "You guys seemed fine with it. It's not like staying a night killed me..." Wild replied as he looked out

Jon had to talk to the cops. Wild did a bit of taking as well, only to confirm that Jon was helping him rather than hurting him. After that, he got to see the other hybrid. The puma girl was still asleep, out due to sedatives. He swore he could still smell it in her system. He took the time to examine her more, beyond the feline features the puma DNA had given her. He could see small scars and scratches, maybe from herself, maybe from another hybrid. He knew how hard it was to get used to claws. He wondered what was next for her. Would she go home too? Join the cause to save their kind? "Idaho man, they are really something." Jon sighed as he came in. At this point in time, Wild was simply staring out the window, watching the cars on the highway zoom by. His ear twitched, though, signifying that he was, in fact, listening to Jon. "What's next? When she gets out?" Wild asked, shifting in his spot to look at the detective. "Technically, that's up to her and Elaine. I did call her about
