Cillian

The sound of classical music that I often hear in my room is my way of enjoying a life that feels empty.

Since I was a child with a weak body, I got sick very easily. It was very disappointing.

I had a very complicated inferiority complex when I saw children my age back then playing happily and being able to do whatever they wanted.

Back then, I even thought there might be no hope of life for me. There would be no bright future.

My family worked hard to keep me alive. I don’t know how many medicines I had taken… and every treatment felt so painful. So often I wished that when I slept, I would never wake up again.

“Please, listen to me, Cillian.” Holding both of my arms and looking at me with tearful eyes, my mother tried to encourage me. “You have to come with me and meet the children there.”

I want to lie, I was already so tired of all the efforts my family had made, and in truth, I had no intention of doing anything. I was just waiting for my death.

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 236

CassandraSince our last meeting, that man seems to have truly kept his word. I haven’t met him, although sometimes it feels like I’m searching for his presence.No. I’m sure I’m just being cautious. Each of the feelings we experience is something we must resolve on our own. For now, I cannot consider him my father, call him father, or receive the warmth I once longed for.And during this past week, I’ve been wearing a bracelet that belonged to my mother. It’s very simple, yet it still draws attention from others when they see it.Not wanting to dwell on my mother’s complicated relationship with Alex, I try to set their concerns aside. I even suffer from painful things within myself. After all, sometimes I feel the need to be alone and seek new scenery. So, using work as an excuse, I go out by myself.Since morning, I’ve been walking calmly through the city center, observing the busy people and looking at stores that have changed their displays. Winter will arrive soon, and I realize

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 235

SebastianI watched her quietly. I was certain she knew very well about me. And this meeting happened because I wanted to meet her.My mind was always filled with Cassandra. Her red, swollen eyes worried me—she must have cried a great deal. What she said that night made me uneasy. Our relationship now was no longer just about Cassandra and me; Miles was involved as well. And I was afraid I might not truly be able to fulfill the promise I had spoken.“So you wanted to meet me to give me a warning?”He was aware of my presence here. The man looked at me with a gentle smile on his face.“I won’t do anything, and I won’t distance myself from her.”My eyes fixed on him sharply. The thought of him disturbing Cassandra greatly irritated me. I would make my warning clear to him.“Even if you are her father, I will do something to you.”I never hesitated to give comfort to Cassandra’s life; she deserves the very best in her life. I could also easily find a way to get rid of this man.“I like y

CassandraAt this moment, I truly did not expect my tears to be so difficult to stop. I was genuinely afraid that my sobbing would completely spiral out of control. My mother’s calm words, about my life, about everything—felt mixed together, tangled, and unfair. This feeling… is beyond my control. As I tightly clutched the bracelet, it was as if my mother were holding my hand.“Forgive me… forgive me.”“You don’t need to punish yourself.”“I’m sorry.”It was as though I heard those words coming from my mother’s own lips. We have both lived complicated lives. This is deeply painful for all of us.After moments like this, I hope that from now on things will move forward more gently, with the weight that has burdened my heart finally fading away. Finally, this conversation ended after more than thirty minutes. Even after I had wiped away my tears, I looked at him with a calmer gaze.“I came to see Seline’s grave.” He paused, his hand tightening before he spoke again, as if trying to stea

CassandraThe moment I sat down in the place he had prepared, I could see how serious he was about making Miles feel comfortable here. There were many toys and foods that were very appealing to children. It was clear that this meeting was not accidental at all.He sat across from me, trying to appear relaxed, but I could see the tension in the movements of his hands.“You want to talk about my mother.”He nodded, then let the waiter place drinks in front of the two of us. Even though he handled it well, I had no intention of enjoying what he served or acting relaxed here.I would grow even more irritated if it turned out he was pretending to have something to talk about regarding my mother. That would be a waste of time.I looked at him, and then he took a breath.“Selena was still young back then. She liked many things, such as art. Our first meeting happened in an alley between buildings.” He began his story, a fleeting smile crossing his face, sketching the pain he carried. He took

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 232

CassandraI walked along the beach with Miles and Sebastian. We had just come back from the private island Grandpa had given him. His reaction when we arrived there was incredible, he had even set up a board displaying a drawing he had made. After spending six hours there, we returned to another island because his private island didn’t yet have a place to stay. So we spent the night on a different island that was a tourist destination.“Like I said, Uncle, it’s going to be an amazing place,” Miles said excitedly, hopping a little. “Can we put horses there?”His voice was very clear when he asked. He stopped walking just to look Sebastian in the eye. Without the slightest hesitation, Sebastian nodded immediately.“Yes. Uncle will build it. On your island, there will be many horses.”I couldn’t even keep up with their conversation at that moment. They wrapped it up quickly, and I simply went along with it.“Miles, don’t think about it too hastily.”While we were on his island, he had me
