Malia's POV

Escaping had to be the hardest thing that I've done in the last few years and I couldn't help but run as far as my legs could carry me. I didn't have my wolf to help me with stamina. All I could think of was how to get out of this godforsaken place. It was unhealthy for me.

I dodged behind many trees to escape the border patrol guards and finally, I snuck out to the forest.

Running through the forest was the worst thing that I could pass through. My legs were shaking due to the intensity of the run.

I refused to wait. This was a dangerous turf and only the fittest could survive. Being without a wolf made me an easy prey and target and heaven forbid that I stayed here without protection.

Having no direction, I decided to move as my instincts led me. I came to the crossroads. Going left would take me to the next pack. I had forgotten the name of the pack. That was roughly a two-hour journey on foot.
