1. Keeping to time

Maria POV

I turned and tossed on the bed, and I opened my eyes gradually, and the first thing that came to my mind was the my job

"Oh, not again" I shouted.

It had become a habit for me to wake up late and I didn't like it no matter how much I tried sleeping early .

"Urghhh" i grunted.

My phone started ringing, and I rushed over to check who was calling and as I thought it was Emma calling. " babe where the fuck are you, Mr manager is asking about you" she said

"Just tell him anything I'll be there soon, on my way" I told her as I risked to grab my toothbrush. I sprinted to the bathroom to take a shower.

I quickly took a shower, dried my body up and checked my wardrobe for something to put on, but as usual that's one of the things that always took my time in the morning because I'm very much indecisive.

"Finally" I shouted while I smiled to my self as I found a Jean and a crop top to wear .

I looked at myself at the mirror and I didn't miss taking a selfie. Weird as it sounds lateness can't stop my morning selfie.

I headed for the road to get a cab

"Taxi" I shouted and a cab stopped right in front of me and I entered, and greeted the cab driver

"Good morning" and he replied "Beautiful morning to you too" with a smile and I smiled. The rest of the ride was quite.

We finally got to my work place Orleans cafe and I dropped and paid the taxi. Emma helped me get a job here. I have worked at Orleans Restaurant for over a year after I left Mexico and I was suppose to stay in LA for just six months then return back to Mexico, but there's absolutely nothing in Mexico for me so I'm not returning back, I'll stay here in LA make enough money and get my papers but before then I'll have to think of what to tell Mr James (manager).

I walked into the cafe and the first face I saw wasn't smiling and the next thing I heard was "Maria, see me in my office" Mr. James shouted

I just walked directly to his office without wasting anymore time.

"What's your excuse this time?" He said

I tried explaining my self and he just cut me short "this should be the last time you come late, if not you'll be fired" he told me with a not so cheerful face.

I've know Mr. James as a cheerful person and so this warning was coming from a place of seriousness and so I really had to sit up I thought as I came out of his office.

Emma just strolled to my direction and gave me a hug as she whispered to me "naughty girl". As we both laughed before going over the counter to get to our aprons.

Javier POV

I woke up with a serious headache and I as I tossed I felt someone lying beside me, "oh the bimbo I brought home yesterday" I remembered,

     what's her name again.. I'd already forgotten 

I woke her up and threw her clothes on her , got my wallet and gave her $ 10,000 and asked her to get out, besides that's all they know money, money, money. and so I got up to get Advil and a glass of water. Gosh I hate drugs but I hated the fact I had to face those incompetent workers I had in the office. I had to leave the apartment and I drove down to the penthouse and I strolled to the bathroom to take a shower and get ready for work.

Dressed in a blue tuxedo looking like a spec picked my briefcase and headed downstairs.

I loved staying at the penthouse when I wanted to relax and concentrate on work, had an elderly house keeper Rose who was in her late 50s who took care of the house and I trusted her with every thing including the food I ate while I was here.

"Good morning Sir" Rose greeted with a tray of my breakfast

"I won't be having anything this morning, I have an early morning meeting, sorry for the inconveniences Rose" I told her

"John!!.. Rose have you seen the driver?" I asked "Yes Sir, he's..." she said as John came into the living room

"Sir, I'm here". Good morning Sir

"John is the car ready" I asked and he said yes sir and he collected the brief case and left to the car.

We got to the office within 20 minutes, John could be annoying but he was a good driver, reason he still has his job. I walked into the building, and noticed staffs in pairs gisting and laughing at irrelevant topics at working hours, they didn't notice me walk in until I cleared my throat and they started scurrying all over the place like rats and I was damn irritated.

Got into the elevator and got to the 6th floor and walked into the office. There was a knock on the door and my PA Angela came in with my coffee and a pile of documents on her hand. Angela has worked with me for 2 years now , and she  is known for her clumsiness and I really don't know how I've been able to manage her for this long.

        "Good morning Sir, here are the files you asked me to prepare for the Frenco deal" Angela said

I took the files and went through it page by page and I must say I was really disappointed.

"Angela clear your desk after you step out of this office" I said as I threw the files on her. With the reaction on her face I'm sure she wasn't expecting me to fire her. And she said " I don't understand" I didn't wait to  for her to complete the next thing she wanted to say so I walked out of the office. 

I was pissed, and to top it up I was also hungry , had to look for a place to eat something even though I really didn't like eating in cheap restaurants because I believe that  none of them could prepare meals up to my taste, but today I was ready to settle. So I strolled out of the Ramirez building and moved to the left where I found a small restaurant Orleans restaurant and then I entered inside.
