“I should help you get inside before I leave. Come on” I told him after pulling the car key out. I got out first before walking over to the other side and he had the door open already.

I gave him my shoulder as a support and he leaned in before I helped him out. With that, I shut the door and helped him into the house. Then I sat him down on the couch and left for the kitchen to have a glass of water.

I returned with a glass of water for him too and he smiled gratefully before taking it.

“Clara isn’t home right? I don’t think it would be nice to have her see the injury you’ve got on your arm” I asked him and he shook his head after he was done drinking the water.

“Thankfully, she isn’t home. We’re cool” he answered and I sighed in relief before taking the empty glass from him. I returned it to the kitchen before joining him in the living room and he had his eyes closed.
