Eva’s POV

“Shhhhhh!” Sonia hisses beside me, grabbing my sleeve like an overeager child. “They’ll hear you.”

Behind me, I can feel Elias’s eyes drilling holes into the back of my skull. That boy definitely took after me—glare first, questions later.

The front door creaks open, and Samantha greets the visitor with a soft bow, her posture suddenly formal.

“Alpha,” she says, “welcome to my humble home. Please come in.”

A tall man steps inside, sharp-suited and sharp-eyed. He scans the room quickly, then zeroes in on me. I straighten instinctively. He walks right up to me—and to my surprise, bows. Deeply.

“My Queen,” he says with a voice like gravel smoothed by diplomacy. “I am Alpha Dimitri. Had I known you were coming, we would have prepared properly. I must apologize for not greeting you in accordance with your rank.”

I lift my hand and gently place it on his shoulder. “Please. We’re actually on a mission. But I must ask—how do you know who I am?”

He straightens and gives a kn

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 152 — “Explosions and Announcements”

Eva’s point of view I actually missed Mary. I haven’t seen her in almost five months. Sure, we talked on the phone a few times, sent the occasional message—but since she went with Steve to visit his family, it’s been radio silence in person. And I was used to seeing her every day. Well… almost every day. It’s strange how fast people become part of your daily noise, and then suddenly that noise is gone and you realize you liked it more than you thought. Mason and Nathaniel know who Mary is. So does Sonia. But my family? Oh no. They don’t have the slightest clue, and now I have to explain to them that this fiery-haired hurricane currently clinging to me is my chosen lady of peace. My chosen mate. Well… for about a month and a half more. Then she’ll be Steve’s. And I’ll either be the King’s fated mate or… you know… his doom. Depends on how lucky Theo’s feeling. Mary presses a soft kiss against my lips, and I feel her freeze. Her eyes widen with realization. “You no longer belong to

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 151 — Eggs, Prophecies, and Unexpected Hugs

Eva’s point of view We all enter the building in comforting silence, the kind that forms between people who have seen too much to need words. The faint aroma of toasted bread and eggs lingers in the air, grounding me for a second as my boots echo lightly on the wooden floor. As we reach the dining area, I glance at Zach. “How are the twins? Did our healers make any progress with them?” He sighs and rubs his palm over his jaw, his usual sign of frustration. “Too little. In a couple of days, they’ll have to enter the Room of Judgment, and honestly—I don’t think they’re ready for it.” His whole face tightens with concern, that protective father-energy radiating off him like heat from a stove. Ever since he found out Selene was his mate, those two girls became his responsibility too. They’re part of his pack now. “They’ll be okay,” I tell him, clapping his back as we make our way to a table. “I’ve had no visions of them dead, so that’s got to mean something, right?” Zach gives me a

Samantha’s point of view I feel my wolf, Ayla, lurch to the surface as soon as our eyes land on this man. And I let her. “You,” Ayla hisses. “I’m going to rip you apart.” We launch forward, every muscle tensed, every claw ready. I don’t care that he’s standing still, like some sacrificial lamb—I’m ready to tear him piece by piece. This man. This bastard was one of the twelve white wolves. I remember his face like it was yesterday, even if it’s worn with age now. He shifted to human form that day, walked toward me like he owned the world, and took my baby from my arms. I see him again now—same face, same calm. I’m almost there when I freeze midair, like hitting an invisible wall. I’m suspended, claws out, fangs bared, but completely stuck. What the hell is this? I strain against whatever force is holding me, muscles screaming, but nothing moves. “Come on, Nathaniel,” I hear Eva’s dry voice behind me, “you’re ruining all the fun.” Of course she’s calm. She’s always calm. Probabl

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 149 Sleeping Beauties and Old Sins

Eva’s POV I stop the car slowly, careful not to jolt my passengers awake. Let them have a few more minutes of peace before the circus starts. Stepping out, I stretch like an old cat, joints popping in protest. Honestly, I should get a medal for this. Drove all night, didn’t kill anyone, didn’t fall asleep at the wheel. Truly a wonder of nature. And then I see them. The Three Musketeers, standing like they’re about to pose for a dramatic portrait. I almost laugh. Mason, Zach, and Nathaniel—all in one place. What could possibly go wrong? I smile, already feeling my cheeks start to ache. Too much smiling lately. Must be catching whatever Sonia’s got. “Mason,” I say, walking over to him first. His hug is warm, steady, exactly like I remember. “I’m glad to see you.” “Me too, kid. Me too.” He pulls me close and presses a kiss to my forehead like I’m still ten. For a second, I let myself lean into it. Feels… safe. Weird, but nice. Next is Zach. Always looks like he’s either about to

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 148 -A Lovely Surprise

Eva’s POV I drive all night. This time, I don’t switch with Sonia. She needed the sleep more than I did. Anyway—I don’t sleep. Never did much before, definitely don’t now. Night owl by trade. Executioner by curse. Same difference. Elias sleeps in the passenger seat next to me, one hand clutching the seatbelt like he’s holding on for dear life even in his dreams. Poor kid. His brow keeps furrowing every few minutes. Must be dreaming of something unpleasant—or maybe he’s just stressed about everything. Understandable. Welcome to the club, little brother. Membership comes with anxiety, terrible coping mechanisms, and no refunds. In the rearview mirror, I catch a glimpse of my mother. Her hands are tucked beneath her cheek, like a kid pretending to sleep in school. But this time, she’s actually smiling. Must be nice. She hasn’t smiled in years. A real one, I mean. I’d almost forgotten what it looked like on her. In the middle seat, Sonia’s curled up like a cat, eyes closed, body rel

  • The executioner and the Alpha King   Chapter 147 - The Hard Route

Elias’s POV I watch her as we all get into the car, heading off to… well, we don’t actually know where we’re going. That’s the fun part of life with an executioner, apparently. Mystery tours and danger included. She walks with so much confidence. Like she owns the whole damn road before she’s even touched the gas. She takes the wheel like it’s nothing, like she’s done this a thousand times before. Probably has. I stand next to her in the front seat while my mother, father, and Sonia cram into the back of the Jeep. We agreed on one car—safer in numbers, apparently. Or at least, it feels safer, like we can all protect each other better this way. She turns to me and grins. “This car doesn’t move unless everyone’s seatbelt is on.” I laugh under my breath. So predictable. She’s like a bossy older sister. Technically, I guess she is—two years older than me. I was barely a year old when they took her. I don’t even remember her being here, not really. Just flashes of stories told too man
