Wintry night

It was 11:52 pm. Jansen arrived at Havelock street, he quickly stepped out of his car and had to grasp a torchlight as he observed that the road is murky and covered with a mist. He strode the street glancing left and right pointing his torchlight at wherever he looks. The rays of his torchlight gleamed on the road.

"Juliet!" He screeched. He did not hear any response and his heart was fluttering he screeched her name thrice still the street was utterly silent and he rubbed his hair in nervousness, he sighed, "where are you?" His eyes trembled and tears were soaking them.

"I hope you're not dead, " Jansen clenched his fists, his face contorted with rage, "I swear I'm not gonna spare any of the goons should anything happen to you." He kneaded his cheek, and a tear dropped. He continued to waddle.

Juliet felt as if she is being pricked by sharp thorns as she tossed and the slope pulled her toward the edge of the cliff, she rolled off the edge and she glanced down noticing huge sturdy rocks and several thickets below the cliff fear grasped her heart she hurriedly leaned her palms on a pair of rocks protruding from the top of the cliff and her legs dangled in the air, the breeze hugged them tightly she moaned.

"Help me! Help!" She screeched and tears spurted in immense flow from her eyes she glanced left and right and all she could see are the shadowy trees standing like pillars, the thickets, and carnations, "will anybody save me?" She bowed in disbelief.

Jansen trekked up the street. As he ambled, he noticed several bottles lying on the ground. He was nearing a pole and he stepped on a banana peel it yanked his foot and he was almost tripping, he glanced at crimson spills of blood on the ground and he felt frightened wondering if it were Juliet's blood he bowed, stretched his arm to the stains and he touched it, he pulled his hand closer to his face sniffing it and his eyes expanded feeling awestruck, "this is real blood."

Jansen's heart thumped fast he paced a bit and spotted one of the goons daggers lying on the floor, he picked it up and stared at it and his hand trembled he unconsciously dropped the dagger, "oh my gosh, they have hurt her. They have killed Juliet." He threw his knees to the ground and grasped his shirt in anguish, "I should've arrived here sooner, I should've been here to stop 'em. Juliet..." Tears streamed down his jowls like a waterfall. He moaned.

Juliet's palms twitched as the rocks rubbed themselves harshly in her palms. "Someone help me...! Anyone! If you can help me, hear me save me!"

Feeling terrified, an image of her lying on solid ground with a huge rock resting on her legs and a lengthy cobra crawling towards her when she was eight flashed through her mind. It was a sandstorm on a radiant hot dayspring in Madagascar pedestrians and drivers were scrambling in dismay on a street as if pursued by a pack of wolves. A horrendous earthquake occurred. Trees were tumbling to the ground landing on some people and as the ground continued to twitch, rocks twirled towards the street knocking some people down.

Juliet whimpered struggling to shift her legs, she felt as if they've been tied with a rope and she moaned. She stared at her parents lying motionless from a distance in a pool of blood they'd been jabbed repeatedly by the rocks and trees.

"Someone help me I can't move my legs, " Juliet screeched amid tears, "mama! Papa!" She felt a lump in her throat knowing they can't listen or respond to her, "mama! Papa!" She called again.

Mia started towards Juliet. She was bleeding from her forehead it was hit harshly on a rock and blood was flowing down. Mia halted in front of Juliet staring at their parents and she felt crushed with grief. She spotted a cobra almost nearing Juliet and she panicked and quickly grasped Juliet's hand, "hold my hand tightly sister, and do not let go."

"I won't," Juliet replied with a feeble voice. Mia yanked her as if pulling a rope and slowly the rock rolled off her legs. The cobra hoisted its neck stretching it closer to Juliet's back attempting to sting her and Juliet quickly hopped to her feet and it crawled past them.

Juliet broke out of her reverie. She felt the softness of her tears on her jowls and it was frosty. She was sensing her arms aching badly they twitched she could not rest her hands on the rocks much longer.

"Mia...Mia my sister I wish you'll come to save me just as when you protected me when we were little kids." Juliet sniffed.

Mia lay in her fluffy Queen-sized-bed tossing feeling disturbed. She was having a bad dream and in it, she sees Juliet gradually fading away she was getting covered by thick darkness and she was losing sight of her.

"Sister..." Mia heard her voice and it sounded like it was shaking, "sister help me. Sister.." Juliet stretched her arm towards her and Mia trotted to her she almost grasped her hand and her hand was covered by the darkness and she completely vanished. "Sister!" Juliet screeched.

Mia jolted awake from her slumber she sat up and was feeling. She patted her chest sighing, "Lord I hope that Juliet is okay. Let nothing happen to my sister."
