Chapter 19 - Negotiate
I look at the open door Melody just stormed out of. I know she expects me to walk out after her but I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to count myself out when it took so much for her to even talk to me again. I need to calm down and work my way back into her life.
I’m lucky she didn’t send me packing when I walked up to her up to her this morning at breakfast. That whole conversation could have gone really wrong. I did well with calming her down and distracting her with the rescue center.
I didn’t give her the time to think about being near me for too long. That always sets her off, she doesn’t trust me enough to let her guard down anymore.
She just caught me off guard with the Samantha declaration; I didn’t think that she would come up today. I thought I could convince her to spend at least a day with me before my girlfriend came up. But I didn’t know that Samantha was already in play.

“I always sleep better when I sleep next to you.” Knox says when I open my eyes. He refused to go sleep in his own bed last night.
