Marco made his way deliberately, as if in a hurry, and searched for Alessa's dead body. He grinned from ear to ear when he saw her lying on the sacrificial stone. She was dead, he thought. He didn't even bother to approach her; he simply returned to the mansion. Seeing the renovated garden didn't surprise him since he knew that after they absorbed the life force of humans, they used it to tend to their home as well.
