Chapter 1

These days, Wade Cox, who rarely updated his social media, became the one dominating everyone's feeds. He and Cecilia Hart were photographed in all sorts of picturesque cafes, atmospheric streets, cake shops, and artisanal workshops.

For someone who used to be so quiet and private, he now wrote captions that poured his absolute heart and soul out, dripping with raw emotion. "Even though we've already done all 100 things one must do while one's in love before, my baby forgot, so I'll accompany her to relive them once more. Words can't describe how happy I am to get her back. As long as it is her wish, even if it kills me, I will fulfill it for her."

I had wanted to do all of these things with Wade for the longest time. Yet, every time I brought them up, he'd dismiss me as childish, claim he had no time, and reject me without exception. As it turned out, he didn't hate the activities; he just hated me.

A tearing pain ripped through my heart. With trembling hands, I tried to call Wade to demand an explanation, but before I could dial, his call came through. "Cecilia wrote the captions and took the photos. I'm only going along with it for the sake of her condition. Cecilia wouldn't let me hide the posts from anyone, so I had no choice but to let you see them.

"I knew you'd be upset. Please don't be mad at me, Stella. I love you. I always have," he explained.

He claimed it was an act, but the joy etched between his brows and the way he looked at Cecilia as if she were his entire world were all devastatingly real. It couldn't be faked. In contrast, his empty promises of love for me sounded unbelievably cheap.

I gasped for air as the machines connected to my body beeped loudly. The crushing weight of betrayal, fear, and agony had me spiraling toward a breakdown. Sweat beaded on my forehead, trickling down and blending with the tears pooling at the corners of my eyes.

"Wade…" I choked out. "My heart hurts. It hurts so much!"

I thought his heart would ache for me, but instead of comfort, I was met with immediate skepticism. "How could that be? Didn't you already have your heart transplant?"

Then, as if something had occurred to him, he chided, "Drop the act, Stella! Now isn't the time to be jealous."

My breath caught for a split second, and I argued, "I'm not jealous! I'm seriously in pain. Can you please just come over?"

Yet, the only response I received was Cecilia's voice. "Get your ass over here, darling! I can't reach my back in the shower. Help me out."

Wade's footsteps sounded, and the sound of running water gradually became clearer.

I nearly broke down. Clutching my chest to keep myself from being consumed by the pain, I demanded, "Are you seriously going to help her bathe? What do you take me for, Wade?"

Wade's tone was calm, yet laced with annoyance. "It's all just an act. Quit being jealous, okay? Three days out of the three months are already behind us. It'll all be over in 89 days. So, just wait for me patiently."

He hung up on me. No matter how many times I dialed, I could no longer get through. Then, a new post appeared on his social media.

Wade's soaking wet shirt clung to his abs, and a delicate, slender hand with red-painted nails had slipped through his shirt, resting firmly against his chest. "My baby girl said I'm soft to the touch."

My breath caught in my throat, triggering a relentless coughing fit. Half a minute later, a sharp metallic taste flooded my mouth. I coughed up a mouthful of blood, spraying it across the white blanket, where it bloomed into a vivid stain.

My hand trembled as I reached out to touch it, but everything before my eyes dissolved into a blur. In the end, darkness closed in, and I sank into unconsciousness.

Cecilia was frightened by Wade. Batting her long lashes, she started to weep. "I-It's my fault, Wade. I'll take my own life right now! I should've just died abroad and never come back. I'm so sorry, Wade."Wade's resolve didn't waver this time. Without uttering a single word, he threw off his blanket, got out of bed, and forced his frail, ailing body toward Cox Manor. Wade used his connections to hunt Robert down and drag him back to the country. If it weren't for Robert, I would still be alive. He was going to pay the ultimate price for what he did to my heart. Robert had already been beaten within an inch of his life. Wade tossed everything he had found onto the floor, including records showing that Robert and Cecilia had attended the same school abroad. Then, he eyed Cecilia coldly. "So, you two are acquainted. You set this whole thing up, didn't you, Cecilia?" Cecilia forced herself to stay calm. She had erased all the evidence. There was no way Wade could have found anythin

However, my voice came through the speakers. "Wade, I wish you a happy marriage. By the time you see this video, I'll already be dead. I don't care about who's right or wrong anymore. "I just want you to know that I hate you. I hate you with every fiber of my being! If I get a second chance at life, I never want to see you again."My final words were hollow, agonizing, and ice-cold. My ethereal voice sounded like a judgment delivered straight from hell. Wade's face lost all its color in a heartbeat. He whipped his head toward the massive screen. "Stella!" he cried out, his voice shaking violently. Then, he sped away in his car. No one dared stop the car with his custom license plate. Wade floored the gas pedal and reached my studio at breakneck speed. By then, my studio had already been cordoned off by the cops.Wade tried to force his way inside, but he was stopped. "Sir, this is a fatal crime scene. You are prohibited from entering." Wade was about to lose his temper, but

The wedding was grand and magnificent. Almost all of Summerset's elites were in attendance. Guests huddled together, whispering about how absurd the whole affair was, yet no one dared to say a word out loud. After all, none of them dared to provoke the woman Wade cherished the most. The ceremony was minutes away from starting, and Wade still hadn't spotted me. Panic gripped him, and he called me, but no one answered. He called Martha, only to get the exact same result. Wade panicked. He left the room, intending to drive out to track me down. His gut was telling him that something irreplaceable was about to slip through his fingers forever. Dressed in her couture gown, Cecilia was getting her makeup done. When she noticed him bolting out of the door, she calmly told her bridesmaid, "Go stop Wade. Tell him that if he leaves, I'll take my own life."Her bridesmaid did as she was told. After hearing those words, Wade felt as if his feet had been filled with lead. He hesitated, hi

All of a sudden, a friend request popped up. The person introduced herself as Cecilia and cut straight to the chase. "You're the wedding officiant Wade mentioned the other day, right?" Wade had indeed introduced me that way back at Cox Manor that day. I didn't reply.Cecilia sent me another message. "I'm getting married in ten days. Can you come over to my place? We need to rehearse. I'm pregnant, so there are a lot of things to consider. I believe I should go over them with you."The words stung my eyes. Clutching my already numb heart, I replied, "Okay."Ten days from then, I would prepare a grand gift for them. My phone's screen dimmed and lit up again, buzzing relentlessly. Cecilia was flooding my inbox with her wedding date, venue, and photos. Cecilia was beaming. Wade was right next to her, bathed in an indescribably soft, radiant light. Dozens of photos, all filled with bright smiles. Marrying the woman he loved made him look like he'd just won the battle of a lifetim

But my call wouldn't go through. Wade had blocked my number. Undeterred, I dialed his number a total of 300 times. Like a trapped beast, I threw myself against the cage again and again until I was battered and bleeding, yet I still couldn't break free. The doctor kept pumping me with drugs, and my vitals slowly leveled out. Martha pointed at the doctor in front of us. "You must've made a mistake. Mrs. Cox is going to live a long life!" Then, she took me to another hospital. …For three days straight, I consulted countless doctors, but every one of them gave me the same answer. There was no way to treat me. All I could do was rest, and only then might I live to see the arrival of spring. The very first day I regained consciousness, I had texted Wade. "My heart condition hasn't gotten better. The other doctors told me my days are numbered."At long last, on the third day, he replied. "Dr. Wilson literally said you're fine; stop lying, Stella. I know you're upset because I'm ke

  • Three Months Left to Unlove You   Chapter 3

I reached for the medicine Dr. Wilson had prescribed me on the table and placed it under my tongue, but this time, it didn't work. If anything, the torturous pain only worsened. Warmth drained from my limbs at an alarming rate, as if all the oxygen had been sucked out of the room. I didn't even have the strength to answer him. Wade gathered me into his arms. "Weren't you already cured? Why is this happening?"Then, he called Dr. Wilson and pressed, "Why is Stella in pain?"Dr. Wilson's voice came through the line. "Her condition has already stabilized, and she shouldn't be in pain anymore… Unless… She's faking it."Wade fell silent. After hanging up, his phone rang. I could see it vividly. It was a message from Cecilia. He took one look at it and, without a second thought, rose to his feet. "I have to go.""Wade!" I called out. Everything I wanted to say was bottlenecked in my chest. I desperately wanted to ask him, "Why would you rather take a doctor's word over mine? Why
