Episode 5

Meanwhile, back in the hotel suit. 

Two Men were engrossed in a conversation, as they sat in opposite direction. "you sure are fast. You've got sister in-law trapped already," Collins tattled with interest as he looked at the smiling face of Daniel.

"that's not the word, you know?" Daniel replied sending him a cocky look.

Collins scoffed at his friend, "Oh please." But continued anyways, "So how was your night? Did you and sister in-law...?" he was cut off by the cold glare Daniel was giving him as he scratched his neck meekly. 

Noticing the serious atmosphere, Collins sat straight with a serious look on his face as Daniel passed the file to him. "I want you to return to the base. And get this done for me."

Taking the file from Daniel, he flipped it through with surprise on his face, "T-this?" he looked at Daniel imploringly. Seeing him nod, he asked, "are you sure, the higher ups will approve this marriage? You know we can't marry just anybody right?"

With a scowl on his face, Daniel stood up, slipping his hands into his pocket. "That's not for them to decide, this is just formality. And I believe there is someone sabotaging my retirement, it's almost as if they don't want me to."

There was a frown on Collins' face as he looked at the cold faced man before him, "do you think it has something to do with your..."

"who else do you think will benefit from it?" Daniel threw him a look, affirming his speculation.

After making sure that he packed everything, Daniel sent his things to Lana's apartment. Apparently, he was going to stay at her place. He knew how stubborn Lana could be, so instead of convincing her to move in with him in a completely different house; he'll just move into hers. That way, they could cultivate their feelings for each other, he thought with a light smile.

Standing by the balcony as he gazed outside, Daniel knew, they were going to face obstacles in their marriage due to his other Identity. 'but so, what?' he thought. He was there to protect her from any harm there'd be.

Through-out the drive back home, Daniel's thoughts were, all on Lana. how was he going to explain his identity, if Lana ever asked of him; on one side, his heart sided telling her the truth and the other, his mind decided to make her fall in love with him before telling her the truth. 

Pulling into the house, he turned off the ignition, grabbed the bouquet of flowers he bought for her and made his way into the apartment. He walked to their room, ready to present her flower. When his eyes bulged at the naked figure, humming and dancing happily. Cupping his hand to his lips, he cleared his throat noisily and tried to gain her attention, as a smirk found a place on his face.

Startled, a scream fell off her lips, "what are you doing here? Close your eyes!" Lana turned around flustered, as she tried to find something that could cover her up. Her cheeks were flushed as she muttered curses, scrambling to wear her clothes. How can she forget the fact, she was no more a single woman! 'Calm down. Calm down its normal and he is your husband, right? He did not see everything right? 

Ahhhh! How frustrating,' she thought. 'How will she face him now?'
