I looked from the private number on my phone to the police cars swarming into the quad. How was I going to get through to Yoké when I didn’t even know what his phone number was? He had to know that our Rissa was still alive. He had to know that his daughter was missing and we had to find her. But how would I tell him? There was absolutely no way of contacting him.

I was standing at the door post with the rest of the family behind me as we watched the police cars enter the house. Real police.
