Audrey's POV

After dinner with Jayden and his mum, without my newly wedded husband, I felt troubled, troubled as to why Rollins didn't bother joining for dinner. It seemed like Jayden and Mrs fane were used to Rollins' isolation from the family.

And I had to get used to it too, which is a weird thing to say, now that I was his arranged wife.

I didn't have to do anything anyways, just pretend to be a wife to the first master of the fane family. Mrs fane was nice enough to tell me all these and also give me a room of my own. I couldn't stay with Rollins, at least for now.

“Here's your room Miss Audrey.” A maid who had led me to the bedroom said, a light smile on her face.

“Thank you, I'll take care of things from here.” I replied to her, she bowed and left. I stood there, about to enter the room when I heard a noise from the room opposite mine. It sounded like rolling of wheels, it kept rolling close towards the door. Shy and scared of seeing him, I opened the door to my bedroom in a haste and ran inside.

From the sound, I guessed it was Rollins. I leaned my back against the door, waiting to hear the sound of his door creak open but the next thing I heard was a crashing sound.

I was startled for a minute, my heart beating rapidly before I got myself again. What was that sound? I thought deeply as I opened the door a bit, peeping outside the empty hallway.

What if something happened to Rollins? I thought again. I couldn't take any chances, I couldn't ignore the sound, not after being a witness to it. I came out of my room, closing the door, hoping that he was fine.

One knock on his door, I waited for a while for a response, there was nothing but a deafening silence. Could something have happened to him?

I opened the door, walking into his room and I was flabbergasted by what I saw next. He drinks?

A few empty bottles of alcohol were scattered around the room while Rollins was there, lying on his wheelchair. Everywhere wreaked of alcohol, the stench polluted my nostrils.

“Rollins?” I called out softly, walking towards him like a thief in the night. I waved my hands across his face but he seemed to be dead drunk.

I looked at the room once again, my eyes darting from one empty bottle to another. “Why would he drink so much?” I muttered, turning my face back to him, only to start admiring his handsome features.

I leaned closer, mindlessly glooming over his face, he slept like a baby, a vulnerable good looking man. Immediately, I realized what I was doing, I shook off the stupid thoughts in my head. I drove his wheelchair towards the bed, carrying him out of it as gently as I could.

But it wasn't as easy as I thought, he was heavier than he looked. He was lean, and I could tell he was muscularly built too just by holding his shoulder as I helped him onto his bed.

His hands were now wide open as he slept on the bed. What could have gone wrong with his legs? I thought as I watched him sleep but I guess it would be mere thoughts for a while since Jayden and Mrs Fane refuse to tell me anything about him.

Maybe I deserve to know, maybe I didn't. Whichever way I hope that everything will be fine with him. I could imagine how frustrated he was with his legs paralyzed. Anyone in his shoes would drink to stupor too.

I went closer to him again, attempting to cover him up but I was caught by surprise when he held me, stopping me from leaving. His eyes were no longer closed, he glared at me and at that moment I glared back at him wishing he wouldn't be shocked to see me on his bed.

I tried to take his grip off my arm but it made things worse, he held tighter, drawing me down to rest by his side. And now, I could feel his breath on my lips.

“Stay with me.” He said instead, I frozed.

“What was that?”

“Be with me for a while before you leave again.”he said, his words coming out tenderly and quietly.

Before I leave again? I never left. Was he hallucinating right now?

“Please, Lora. Don't go.” He muttered out, shutting his eyes once again. I furrowed my brows, confused. Lora? Who was Lora?

I felt a sudden jolt as his hands landed on my cheeks. I shrugged it off, trying to brush off the unexpected touch, and swiftly stood up from his bed.

But before I could create some distance, he drew me back in, his lips meeting mine in a gentle, yet insistent kiss. My eyes widened in surprise, but his eyes remained closed, as if savoring the moment.

For a moment, I froze, unsure how to react. But as his lips moved against mine, I felt a spark of electricity run through my veins. I tried to push him away, but my hands seemed rooted to his chest. His kiss deepened, and I felt myself getting lost in the sensation.

Audrey's POV "They are going to come looking for you, Audrey." Abby was worried and scared for my sake. "Lower your voice will you." I whispered to her as I glanced into the living room to see if Mira was still watching tv. "I know they'll will be here anytime soon. I just wanted to see you guys and they wouldn't let me leave the mansion." Abby glared at me, confused. "Was that written in the contract?" I shook my head. Nothing in the contract said I'd become some sort of prisoner to them. "So stop nagging me and let me enjoy this short time with Mira." Abby still looked worried, but I held her hand. "Stop worrying. The worse they can do is yell at me for leaving." "That's the problem, Audrey. They want you to be prisoner, they might yell at you. Worse things could happen. I...I really don't like the fact you agreed to all this." "It's all for Mira, remember?" She gave an agreeable look, and rolled her eyes. "You don't need to worry. I can handle myself."I assured her. We both

Audrey's POV I woke up to the sound of steady breathing beside me. For a moment, I almost forgot where I was until I turned my head and saw him and I realized I spent the night with him. "Shit!" I muttered, embarrassed as my palm hit my forehead. Rollins slept peacefully at the edge of the bed, the early morning light filtered through the curtains, casting shadow across his naked broad shoulders. My heart pounded as I slowly tried to leave the bed. Taking my dress up from the floor as I put it on slowly, doing my best not to make a sound but then my leg hit the drawer. Rollins shifted, I stopped moving, scared that he might open his eyes and see me here but he didn't, which gave me a chance to walk out quietly. "How did you get in here?" a thick, cold voice stopped me before I could open the door. I turned my head towards Rollins, the look on his face made my stomach drop. His gray eyes, usually cold, now burned with something sharper, disgust. I opened my mouth to say so

  • Torn Between Brothers    CHAPTER 4: GETTING MARRIED

Audrey's POV I was only given a short time to see Mira and Abby before leaving with the billionaire Jayden fane in his luxurious car. In a short wedding dress, I watched him sit far from me in the back seat. His expression was cold and unreadable, I dared not speak or ask any questions about the wedding, just like he had instructed me to do. And for some reason, I had no idea why I couldn't ask questions about this fake marriage nor could I ask about his brother. Suddenly his phone rang, he answered the call. “Speak.”he said, his voice cold, there was silence for a moment. He sighed, rubbing his temples. “Just tell her we are on our way.” he instructed. I couldn't make out what the conversation was all about, but I knew it certainly had to do with me, with that he ended the call. “Why do you keep staring?” He asked without looking at my direction, shoving his phone into his pocket. I felt guilty as I immediately looked away from his side. But now, his eyes were stuck on me. “Y

  • Torn Between Brothers    CHAPTER 3: THE CONTRACT DEAL

Jayden's Pov"We can't let this disgrace undo everything we've worked so hard to achieve." my mum said, folding her arms as she gazed out at the blue sky through the window. Even with her back to me, I could sense the worry etched into her expression.“It won't.”I assured her.She turned around instantly, her eyes staring at me. “So, is that a yes? You'll get him a wife?”“I will mother, trust me.”As I stood before the mirror, a glass of red wine in hand, I took a slow sip, savoring the moment while my fingers tapped impatiently against the glass. My patience was wearing thin as I waited for the stripper from last night. If the clock struck noon and she still hadn’t arrived, there would be consequences for keeping me waiting.Suddenly the door creaked open, the red-haired lady, with ridiculously cute hazel eyes walked into the room. I scoffed after noticing her outfit."Forgot to do the laundry, or is this your signature look?" I asked her, sipping my wine, my eyes narrowed towards
