Chapter 19

It turns out that Sharon is super strong.

She single-handedly carried Mike all the way to his room and laid him on his bed. He was half-conscious, his voice barely a whisper and his body weakened. His muscles looked like they had been deflated a little, a complete shadow of the man he was just a few minutes ago. He had a high fever and Sharon tried to cool him down with a wet towel. It was all so sudden and so strange.

"Mike, what is happening?", Sharon mutters worriedly as she dabs his forehead with a wet towel. I bring the bowl of cold water closer to Sharon and try to comfort Mike. After all, he was the only one who could help us defeat the Archers.

At the other end of the room, Andrea quizzed Lizzy about how she felt during the ritual. She was being suspiciously helpful; I feared it was in a way meant to mock Lizzy.

"You didn't feel a sharp pain in your chest? So painful that you wanted to scream?"

Lizzy shook her head. She had put on normal clothes but still wore the beads.
