I don't think it's being drawn out....she would have written about each liter shifting and maybe some new mates if she was drawing it out. She's giving references to time to keep from drawing it out.

This is becoming a long and drawn out tactical mission that is doing too far jump aheads. Seriously 12 years now??? I really like this book but now it just seems ridiculous. Lilith has pretty much taken over the world leaving Thea a sliver of it along the west coast .........
