Avery's POV The sound of the door opening awoke me from my sleep. I was about to get up, but memories flashed of what happened earlier so I kept my eyes closed and laid still. I felt the bed dip beside me and my heart felt like it was going to burst from beating so hard out of fear. "I know you're awake," a deep voice said behind me. I still didn't move, fearing that the man might do something to me as soon as I opened my eyes. "Elio," he called out. My whole body tensed, hearing that name once again. My mother was the only person who called me that. She never told me why she called me that name. All this time, I just thought it was an endearment. "Ah, so she did call you that," the man chuckled. "Come on now, get up so we can talk," he said softly. I took a deep breath before opening my eyes. The sun had already risen and it was shining through the windows. I took a deep breath before slowly sitting up on the bed. I still didn't look at the man, I kept my back towards him.

"Why do you call me Elios?" I asked Lorenzo as it was the only two of us left at the dining table."That's what I wanted to name you back then," he said. "Come, I'll show you something," he said as he stood up from the chair.I didn't have any other choice but to follow him. Arturo's POVIt's been two months since Avery was taken away from me. I could barely think straight without him here with me. They told me that he was doing okay and that he was being trained by Lorenzo. It also seemed that he had tight security around him and was never allowed to leave the property. Arturo knows he couldn't just come in and take Avery back. It was the next day and true to his word, my father was nowhere to be found. I quickly went back to my room after breakfast after feeling the hostile environment of the people at the table. Avery's POV"You've met Alexis, right?" Milan asked as soon as we got back to my room."Yes, I think? She's Lorenzo's right hand, yes?" Arturo's POVUpon hearing about the death of Lorenzo, I thought Avery was going to come home right after, but Alexis kept him locked in his room. I tried talking to Milan about why this happened and he kept saying that he doesn't know. I knew better than to trust him, but I was desperate. She said she will let him go once we give her what she wants.Today's the day of her ascension ceremony, right after the day of Lorenzo's funeral. I got to talk to Avery on the phone yesterday, concerned that he might be devastated by his father's death. I was shocked to hear when he said he really didn't feel anything about his father's death. I could only guess that he didn't form a deep attachment with his father in that short amount of time, but I'm still surprised that he's handling this well.We reached the estate and it was clear that Alexis was trying to rebrand and reform their clan. Avery's POVWe finally got back home and Tiago immediately suggested a makeover. Given that quite a few people already saw me backat Lorenzo's estate, he reasoned out that it's best that I change my appearance until people forget about me so now I'm sitting on a chair in front of a mirror getting my hair bleached. Even my brows weren't safe. I asked Tiago how will I explain the lashes and he just told me that we could just tell people that I got it tinted.My nose scrunched at the smell of bleach on my head. I honestly think that Tiago wanted to bleach Leo's hair, but he constantly refused so I was the next target. He really didn't give me a chance to say no.
