I had waited till I was sure nobody was down in the sitting room.

Dinner had been long over, and Sonia was fast asleep on the bed now.

After writing a short note for hot daddy, I had hidden it among one of the big textbooks I had brought with me thinking I would be too bored to want to study during the holidays.
