LOGIN“Please, don’t marry him. I love you. How am I supposed to live without you?” Williams’s voice broke as he pleaded, desperation seeping into every word. Slowly, deliberately, Elodie slid the engagement ring off her finger. Without hesitation, she hurled it at him, the sharp metallic sound of it hitting the ground cutting through the air like a knife. “Get lost, Williams,” she spat, her tone icy. “I never want to see your face again.” Williams stared down at the ring, the very one he had chosen with so much love and care, now lying discarded like it meant nothing. Without another word, he turned and walked away, his steps heavy. He didn’t look back, and with every step he took, the distance between them felt insurmountable. As his figure disappeared from view, Elodie stood frozen, her body trembling. The tears she had been holding back finally spilled over, and she collapsed to her knees. The ring, still glinting faintly on the ground, caught her eye. With shaking hands, she reached for it and cradled it in her palm. Her sobs grew louder as she pressed the ring to her lips, her tears soaking into her skin. “I’m sorry,” she whispered, her voice barely audible through the sobs. “I’m so sorry, Williams.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the struggle for dominance, Elodie Richards unknowingly becomes a pawn— an object of a cruel joke that shattered her once blissful life. Falling prey to an evil scheme, she let go of the one thing that mattered most in her life; Williams Storm. When the truth comes to light, will Elodie be able to right her wrongs and win back the heart she shattered into pieces, even when Williams' once–loving eyes are filled with nothing but contempt for her?
View MoreElodie stood before Williams, her white wedding dress gleaming in the soft afternoon light. She could barely breathe, every fiber of her being screaming for her to stop, to choose him. But she forced herself to stay rooted, her decision set like a stone wall between them.
“Please,” Williams said, his voice cracking as he stepped closer. His desperation was palpable, his words heavy with anguish. “Don’t do this. Don’t marry him. I love you, Elodie. You’re my life.....how am I supposed to live without you?” Her chest tightened painfully, her heart pounding against her ribcage like it was trying to escape. She clenched her fists, her nails biting into her palms as she fought to hold herself together. One more minute. Just one more minute, and she’d be free of this moment, free of the pain in his voice that was breaking her apart piece by piece. His hands reached out, trembling as they gripped her arms. “Say something,” he pleaded. His voice was raw, filled with a desperation she’d never heard before. “We had everything planned. Our life, our future....you said yes to me. You said you loved me. How can you throw it all away? How can you throw us away?” The crack in his voice shattered something inside her. For a moment, she wanted to collapse into his arms, to let him take her away from the suffocating reality she’d chosen. But she couldn’t. She couldn’t be selfish. He dropped to one knee suddenly, his hands grasping hers tightly. “Please,” he said, his words spilling out in a frantic rush. “Whatever it is.....whatever’s wrong....we’ll fix it, together. Don’t do this, Elodie. Don’t leave me. For you, I can do anything. Just tell me what you need.” Her throat burned as she swallowed the scream clawing to escape. She had to end this now before her resolve cracked. She yanked her hands out of his grasp, stepping back as if his touch burned her. Her lips curled into a sneer that she hoped looked convincing. “You don’t get it, do you?” she said, her voice cold. “This is over. I’ve made my choice.” He stared at her, his face a mixture of confusion and disbelief. His lips parted as if to argue, but no sound came out. She knew she had to drive the point home before he could recover. Sliding the engagement ring off her finger, she held it for just a second too long, the weight of it unbearable. She hurled it at his feet, the tiny band clinking against the ground with a finality that felt like a death knell. “Take your stupid ring,” she spat. “And don’t ever come near me again.” For a moment, all he did was stare at her, his eyes wide with hurt. Then his gaze fell to the ring lying discarded on the ground, the symbol of everything they’d built, now meaningless. His shoulders slumped, and when he looked back at her, his face was a mask of betrayal and heartbreak. “Why?” he asked softly, the word barely audible. "Are you leaving me to marry Bryce Tanner because he is a billionaire? Or am I suddenly not good enough because you are the CEO of Chard Corporation? Tell me, Elodie. I want to know." At this point, Bryce appeared in his wedding suit, his eyes taking in the scene before him as he asked Elodie, "What's going on here, baby?" Elodie decided to seize the opportunity, so Williams would be convinced. She clasped Bryce's hand with hers and said to Williams, "Isn't it obvious? Bryce is a million times the man you could never be. Yes, he can give me everything I want. He is a billionaire, and he is a real man as opposed to you, a pathetic, poor nobody who can never be anything more. What can you give me, Williams? A miserable life? I deserve better. I deserve someone I won't be ashamed of, someone I can proudly show off to the world, someone who fits my class and is not a burden to me." "Go ahead, baby, I'll be with you shortly," She told Bryce who kissed her cheek before walking away. Williams balled his fists and without another word, got up, turned and began to walk away. His steps were slow, heavy, as if each one required all his strength. He didn’t look back, and with every step, the air between them grew colder, more final. The moment he disappeared from view, Elodie’s knees buckled, and she crumpled to the ground. Her trembling hands reached for the ring where it lay, catching the faint glint of light. Clutching it tightly, she pressed it to her lips as tears poured down her cheeks. “I’m sorry,” she whispered, the words breaking apart as sobs wracked her body. “I’m so sorry, Williams.”ONE MONTH LATER The Cathedral stood magnificent against the clear blue sky, its Gothic spires reaching toward heaven as if blessing the union about to take place within its sacred walls. Sunlight streamed through the stained glass windows, casting kaleidoscopes of ruby, sapphire, and gold across the polished floors. Inside, the cathedral had been transformed into a paradise of white roses and cascading orchids. Thousands of cream-colored petals lined the ivory runner that stretched down the impossibly long aisle. Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead, their light dancing off the silk ribbons and delicate baby's breath woven throughout the floral arrangements. Candles flickered in ornate holders, their warm glow adding to the ethereal atmosphere. The pews were filled with guests dressed in their finest attire—designers gowns, tailored suits, jewels that caught the light with every movement. Soft chamber music floated through the air, the string quartet playing a melody so beautifu
Williams pulled Elodie up from the couch and into his arms, holding her tightly. "I love you so much," he murmured into her hair. "I'm going to spend the rest of my life making up for the time we lost." "We didn't lose anything that matters," Elodie said, pulling back to look up at him. "We're together now. That's all that matters." Williams kissed her forehead, then her nose, then finally her lips—soft and gentle, filled with promise. "Now," he said, stepping back with a glint in his eye. "I'm going to cook you dinner. A proper meal. Something nutritious and delicious for you and our baby." "You're going to cook?" Elodie asked, surprised. "Williams, you don't have to..." "I want to," he interrupted. "I need to take care of you, Elodie. After everything you've been through, let me do this. Please." She saw the earnestness in his eyes and nodded. "Okay. But only if you let me watch." "Deal," he said with a smile. In the kitchen, Williams moved with surprising confidence
Elodie immediately stood when she saw the brothers, her eyes searching Williams' face. He gave her a small nod, and relief flooded her features. "Elodie," Williams said gently. "You should eat something. You look pale." "I'm not really hungry," she admitted. "Please," Williams insisted. "For me. For the baby." Grace stepped forward. "I saved you a plate, dear. Come, sit down and try to eat a little something." Elodie allowed herself to be led to the dining room, though she kept glancing back at Williams. Williams sat down next to Tobias, suddenly feeling exhausted. The emotional weight of the last few hours was catching up with him. "You okay, man?" Tobias asked quietly. "I don't know," Williams answered honestly. "I feel... I don't even know what I feel." "That's understandable," Tobias said. "You just had a pretty intense conversation with your brother. The brother who kidnapped your pregnant fiancée, I might add." "He's really dying," Williams said softly. Tobi
Grace led Elodie down the hallway, her hand gently guiding the younger woman's elbow. "Come with me, dear. Let me find you something more comfortable to wear." Elodie followed, her heart still racing from everything that had just happened. As they walked through the house, she couldn't stop the smile that kept threatening to break across her face. Williams was here. He had come for her. After days of captivity, of fear and uncertainty, he had finally found her. "You're glowing," Grace observed with a soft smile as she opened the door to what appeared to be a guest bedroom. "Despite everything you've been through." "I just... I can't believe he's really here," Elodie said, her voice trembling with emotion. "Grace, I was so scared. I thought maybe he wouldn't remember me at all, or that he wouldn't care enough to come, or that..." "Shh," Grace interrupted gently, pulling open a closet. "That man out there fought his own brother for you. Trust me, dear, Williams Storm would tear
