30. Can I Go With You?

“Why are you being like this?” I asked when I could no longer keep the thoughts to myself. He was excellent at confusing my feelings. Sometimes, he was a jerk, but the next time, he was being kind to me. I loathed the emotions he was awakening without even trying. “W-why are you acting as if you are good?”

Lennox’s brows furrowed. “What are you talking about?” he asked and rummaged through my belongings. “I did not say I am a saint, Keira. I am far from being good. Rejecting you. Not accepting you before is not the deed of a good man. I am far from being good.”

I inhaled deeply.

He was right. I was wrong. Always wrong.

Alpha Lennox continued touching my things without asking my permission. It was fine with me. There was nothing expensive here.

“What do you want, Keira?” he asked again when I did not answer anymore. “Time is running out. Someone might be spying on us. And that old man. Seeing him made my blood boil. You should learn how to identify good and evil people.”
