Chapter 17: Leo Wakes Up

(Leo Bloodstone POV)

I am rudely awakened by the gruff voice of my father in my head.

“Get your a&& in the car. We are leaving in ten minutes. And you had better have a d&mn good excuse for where you were last night.”

I groan as I rub my pounding head. I pull a pillow over my head as though that might somehow help me.

I have no desire to deal with my father right now.

I am not sure how he will take it when I explain what happened last night. In his worldview, there are very few things that justify not being there for family, and I missed Isla’s first shift. No matter what, he is unlikely to let me off easily.

That having been said, he may soften a bit when he sees Piper.
