Nicholas’ POV

I was in the middle of a lunch meeting when I noticed Jessica walking in with another man. Actually, there were four of them, but the other two left soon after.

Our discussion about the collaboration wasn’t over yet, but I was getting distracted because I could see how happy she was while talking to him.

I was watching Jessica from a distance.

It’s been two weeks. I miss her. Even though we’re only separated by a wall, I haven't seen her since that night. I've been busy, and I think she has been too. I was out of town for several days.

I remember that night when she returned to her unit. Even though I was exhausted, I couldn’t sleep.

Just the thought that she's only walls away excites me. I know I should be careful.

I'm trying to stay away from her because I feel like I’m falling. And that's not part of the plan. I need to control my emotions.

But now, seeing her smiling with another man makes my chest feel like it’s about to explode.

My heart is telling me to go to her
