Chapter 9
My Lycan husband is evil! SERAPHINA “Let me go,” I said through gritted teeth, but Leone didn’t even blink. His hand stayed rough and firm around my waist. I pushed at his chest, twisted my body, but it was like trying to move a wall. He didn’t budge. I could feel every breath he took. I hated how easily he controlled me. I hated how my body trembled, not just with fear but something else I would rather not name. “Please,” I said again, louder. “Let go of me.” He leaned in closer, his lips brushing my ears. “I’m trying to show you the importance of this alliance,” he whispered against my ear, his breath warm. My whole body stiffened. His voice crawled over my skin. I hated the way he spoke to me like he owned me, like he could touch me anytime he wanted. I hated the way his voice sounded like they're the most beautiful thing in this world. His fingers moved slowly, sliding towards the underside of my breast. I held my breath as the feelings crawled around me; my eyes closed subconsciously as I felt myself falling deeper into it. In that moment I forgot everything and concentrated on the way his fingers caressed my skin. My thoughts blurred as I wanted more of it. I wanted to feel this new thing. No. No, this was what he wanted. Control. Power. This was his way of torturing me and driving home; he owns me. I opened my eyes fast. I snapped out of it. His touch meant nothing. It was a trick. He wanted to break me down, make me beg, make me weak, confuse me, and use my body against me. I looked at him now, and my anger came back. I stepped back hard and shoved at his chest. “You’re a filthy dog,” I spat. He blinked, his head tilting. “You're disgusting." The words poured out fast, and I didn't wait to think about what he would do to me. “All lycans are just filthy, wild, cursed dogs with nothing but power.” The smile left his face as he stopped moving. His eyes darkened, and all he did was glare at me. And then he shoved me back, not hard enough to hurt me, but hard enough to make a point. I stumbled and caught myself before I hit the wall. His jaw clenched tight, his eyes changed color to that of a golden hue, and his whole body shook like he wanted to rip something apart. Like he was on the edge of transforming and snagging my head off my neck. “You just don’t like an easy life, do you?” he growled. I said nothing but stepped forward. “I gave you a chance,” he said. “But no, you throw it in my face.” I stayed quiet, wondering where he was heading. “You want a hard life?” he said again. “You want to suffer, little wolf? Fine. I’ll give it to you.” His voice was ice. I felt it all the way down my spine. I watched him turn his head and call out. He sneered at me before he spun around to face the hallway he had come in. “Philip!” he shouted, voice sharp. "Yes, Alpha?” Philip answered, entering from the corner he had been lurking, eyes shifting between us. Leone didn’t waste time, and he wouldn't look at me anymore. “Tell the head housemaid we’ve got a new helper,” he said, a wry smile twisting his lips. I gasp, fear punching a hole in my stomach. Philip blinked in feigned surprise. “A new… worker?” Leone pointed at me without looking. “This one is her new worker now.” I gasped. “What?” I stuttered. “You are not entitled to...” “Tell her,” Leone continued cutting me off whilst ignoring me, “that the little wolf will now be helping with the plates.” Philip blinked. His eyes shifted to me, then back to Leone. “Washing?” I asked, confused. “What…” “By hand,” Leone said, cutting me off. “She is to wash all the plates. Each one.” Philip’s mouth opened slightly, then shut, and he turned to grin at me, loving the idea.“No machines,” Leone added, turning slowly toward me. “If she’s caught using the machine, the head housemaid will suffer. Not the little wolf, but her.” Philip’s face went pale. “Understood, Alpha.” I clenched my fist. “You’re evil.” He faced me, and my mouth dropped open. Did I have a death wish without me knowing? “You can’t do that,” I snapped. “You have no right…” He stepped closer, closer than before. Our lips were almost touching. I felt his breath on my lips. My heart thudded in my ears, but his eyes never blinked. He leaned in more. His lips passed my cheek in a slow, torturous way and landed near my ear. “Watch me,” he whispered. I trembled. He pulled away, straightened, and turned toward the clock on the wall. It was still dark, not morning yet. I followed his gaze. I saw the time. My chest burned with shame and fury. I wish I could punch the smile off his face, but I'd be in more trouble than my stupid mouth has landed me in if I did it. Then he turned back to me, and smiled. A slow, cruel smile. He didn’t even look at Philip. His eyes stayed on me, and a wicked smile curled the harsh like of his perfect lips. “She is to start immediately.”Chapter 11Highest form of humiliation SERAPHINA The sky started to change as night faded into morning. The wind felt cooler on my skin. My arms felt weak, and my legs barely moved. I washed the last plate and wiped it slowly. My fingers stung, and my nails cracked. The water turned brown and greasy. I still smell of the garbage water Leone had disposed of on me, but it's dried up a little. My skin itches me, and the more I scratch, the more it gets red.I looked at the heap of clean plates and sighed. Now I had to take them back.I bent down and picked up the first stack. My back ached, but I didn’t stop. One trip. Two trips. Three. I didn’t count out loud, but I knew when it was ten. I felt each one in my bones.I walked into the kitchen with the last stack. The maids were there, standing close together. They stopped working when I came in. Their eyes landed on me. I smelled like sweat, soap, and waste water. My feet were bare since I discarded my shoes so I wouldn't trip and bre
Chapter 10SERAPHINA I stood frozen, and my chest tightened at his words. Leone was cruel; everyone knew about that, but this was the highest form of cruelty I've witnessed. And to think it was melted out to me.“She's to start immediately.” His words kept on echoing repeatedly in my head. My heart dropped, and a realization dawned on me. The Lycan monster was really going to do this to me? Work… as a maid? Me? The future Luna as a maid? – or so I thought since I got married to him, which would automatically make me his Luna. But then no words about the coronation had been spoken, and apparently grandfather Lucien seems to have disappeared from the palace. My gaze snagged back at Leone, but his expression remained unreadable; his eyes were stony and boring into me too. The kind of look that sends shivers down your spine, but I wasn't one to be scared of his looks. His voice had been calm, like he was talking about the weather. My mouth opened, but no words came out.“You can’t be se

Chapter 8My little wolf is a conniving bitch!LEONEI grabbed Lena's waist and slammed into her again. Her moans bounced off the walls, making me increase my pace. She begged me not to stop. I didn't plan to.I needed release. My blood boiled from everything — my father, the forced marriage, and that wolf girl who looked and spoke at me like I was beneath her.I grunted, pulling Lena closer, moving harder. She whimpered sweet moans, her nails digging into my back.A knock came on the door just as I was buried deep inside her. I ignored it since it came soft and unsure. Whoever was there will get the hell away once he realizes I was in the middle of something important. But the knock came again, a little high and still unsure. “Go away,” I growled, not even slowing down. I could feel myself getting nearer to release. Another knock, and this time it was louder.I cursed under my breath. My rhythm faltered, and Lena whimpered. I didn’t care. I was already in a bad mood. That damn wolf
Chapter 7First escapeSERAPHINALong after Leone left, I sat on the bed, still holding my neck. His fingers weren’t around it anymore, but it still felt like they were. I could feel his breath in my ear, his voice inside my head. Every word he said, every threat, it stayed with me. It was like poison, sinking deeper and deeper into my bones. He really hated me. I knew it before, but now I could feel it in every part of me. Maybe he'd kill me and send my dead body to my father, or maybe I'd live the rest of my life in this palace in fear. He had left an hour ago, but my heart still beat too fast for what had transpired. I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to breathe slowly. I wanted to cry, but the tears had dried up days ago.I couldn’t stay here anymore. It was a bad decision to accept to do this in a brave way. I needed to leave. But where would I go? The question tormented me, but one thing I knew I was never going to return to my father. My father was the one who gave me awa
Chapter 6My first taste of Hell!SERAPHINAI was stunned at the Lycan King's audacity. He really pushed me? How dare he? How could he push me into this room like I was nothing?I sat on the cold floor, stupefied. My heart raced. I stared at the door as my heart thud loudly against my chest. I blink once, twice. Not only that, but I even went as far as cleaning my eyes, but it was real. The door was still closed and locked. I got up and rushed to the door, and my hands slammed against it over and over again.“Lycan!” I screamed, fear punching a hole in my stomach. “Open the door! You can’t lock me in here!”I waited a while, but nothing.“Coward!” I screamed louder, banging my fist harder on the door. “You think locking me up will break me?”Still silent.I hit the door again, again, and again, then leaned my forehead against it. My fists burned from banging. But I didn’t stop. How could he do this to me?I looked around slowly. The room was full of dust and darkness. Cobwebs hung in
