Chapter~8

IRIS

I stared down at the clothes that were now properly arranged in the wardrobe. Thinking about everything, if felt like a dream; a dream I never wanted to wake up from.

"Oh, mother," I sighed and walked to the window.

"I wish you were here to see all of this. Finally, I can live the life you've always wanted." My hand trailed the glass windows as I stared down the building.

"I'm no longer a slave. I'm being treated like a human being."

Although lots of things had been taken from me, I was still grateful I was alive. At least, it was better than being dead or living in fear with some rogues out in the woods.

The memories of what had happened were still fresh in my mind. I was meant to be dead. For goodness sake, I was thrown off a cliff by someone who once told me to call him father. And raped by a notorious man was enough to cause a great shift in my life but there I was, standing strong and hoping that one day, I would exert my revenge.
