Chapter 4

CHAPTER 4

At the time that Blake got home, he heard a sudden banging from the inside. He hurried to pull out his keys and opened the door just to found out darkness was eaten the whole room.

“Why the hell the lights are off!’’ he said and his feet could feel something on the floor. He senses something unusual was happening. He switched on the lights and what popped out before his eyes was a mess, a mess you wouldn’t dare to imagine. The place was flooded by water and things were scattered on the ground. “What’s going on here?’’ he spoke to one’s mind and breathed heavily as he slowly entered the place, he thought that someone may be broke in, he was worried that something happened to the woman but he should be careful, the breakers might still be inside, then moment later he heard another bang from the kitchen. He tiptoed inside and saw the place was dark, when he roamed around, his eyes caught the only light lighting the place, and there he saw the woman in front of the refrigerator wearing his clothes upside down, eating speedily, opening all the foods that she could eat.

“Oh… no… no… no… What have you done?’’ he uttered and slapped his forehead as he hurriedly switched on the light and saw the faucet was on, no wonder the place was flooded. He massaged his forehead and turned off the faucet immediately. “You didn’t even know how to switch the lights on nor off it, don’t yah? This is unbelievable, you made all these messes just because you are finding food?’’ he was scolding her but then he only stressing himself more, she was busy eating, ignoring his words not even sure if she could understand that he was mad, and in the end, he just laughed and went near her, he bent his knee and looked at her face closer.

 “You’re driving me crazy… how could I didn’t expect this… Stop eating like a mad dog,’’ he said and held her hands, making her stop eating and stared at him. “Look at you,’’ he whispered staring at her messy face filled with foods she just chewed, he couldn’t stop laughing, he switched on the lights and grabbed her shoulders to let her stood up and he led her in the bathroom, cleaning her face, he gulped when their eyes met, he really admired her eyes, its beautiful color was extremely stunning.

He shook his head, making himself focus on washing her face from the faucet when she suddenly sprinkled water on his face, and for the first time he heard her laugh and then followed by a giggle. He wasn’t surprised by what she did but from her laughter.

“You laugh? That means you have a voice…’’ he said and another sprinkled water woke him up, and he looked at her, who was smiling as she continued sprinkling water to him.

“Stupid…’’ he chuckled and before he knew he found himself sprinkling water to her as well. He laughed to himself couldn’t believe he would play to a person like her at his age, he was too old enough more than people could imagine, although he looked like around ’20s, well he was not.

He glanced at her eyes once more and grabbed her from the waist when she almost slipped on the ground, and he felt strange, his heart was pounding the way he never felt before. He gulped and his eyes rolled down to her lips and he gulped once more, he felt the heat flowing through his veins.

He shook his head and let her go and looked at his drenched shirt…

“Oh no…’’ he whispered and when his eyes rolled to the woman’s white loose shirt, his heart skipped a bit, and turned around. Her shirt was drenched that it becomes transparent.

“I should have thought of this before eliminating my maids… I forgot she’s a girl… I would never change her clothes by myself… but…’’ his mind got panic, wondering what he should do… He felt abusing her if he was the one who would clean and dress her up, especially that the woman seems doesn’t know everything…

After hours of thinking, he remembered Veronica, whom he saved before and knew everything about him. He hurriedly contacted her…Veronica gave her number to him just in case he would need him, he didn’t accept it at first since he couldn’t see any reasons to ask some help from a human, plus she’s a woman human. But because he doesn’t want to disappoint her, he took the card and left. Didn’t imagine that he would really need her help someday.

“What happened here?” Veronica’s eyes widened in horror as she entered his place. He drew a deep sigh and explained to her everything including the footage where they found her, he told her in detail. He doesn’t want to, but she was the only one he got; besides she kept her secret and she might keep about her as well…

“So, what do you want me to do?’’ she asked, and he took a deep breath and pointed at Evangeline’s at the corner of the kitchen…

“I want you to clean her up,’’ he said awkwardly and Veronica noticed that he wasn’t staring at the woman as he pointed at her, he was somehow sheepish, and when she glanced at Evangeline’s state, smirked painted on her face silently.

“Such a guy,” he giggled.

“What?” he asked.

She lifted her one brow as she gave him a strange smile, “Nothing… never mind it… Anyway, where is your bathroom?’’ she said in a loud voice and then winked as she sauntered closer to Evangeline.

“Upstairs, enter the third room and opened the door right next to the bed, remember not to enter any room other than the third one,’’ he warned her and she nodded her head as she wrapped her hands around Evangeline’s arm and smiled at her, getting her trust and signalling her to come with her.

“Let’s go?” she asked and Evangeline just looked at her, blank face and innocent. But then Blake got surprised when she saw Evangeline smile at Veronica, as if they were close to each other.
